The new owner destroyed the menu which was extraordinary to replace it with a menu which is no longer special, it is made for medium volume budget to small budget..it is no longer the same restaurant at all.. in short for Italian like anywhere else it is beautiful good cheap if you are looking for a more high-end cuisine there is better when you say that there is not even fillet mignon anymore but a piece of meat as hard as a boot sole .Very disappointed, only the wine list remains interesting...Le nouveau propriétaire a détruit la carte qui était extraordinaire pour la remplacer par une carte qui n'a plus rien d'exceptionnel, elle est faite pour les budgets moyens à petits budgets..ce n'est plus du tout le même restaurant..bref pour l'italien comme partout ailleurs c'est beau bon pas cher si vous cherchez une cuisine plus haut de gamme il y a mieux quand on dit qu'il n'y a même plus de filet mignon mais un morceau de viande aussi dur qu'une semelle de botte.. Très déçu, seule la carte des vins reste intéressante.

We recently visited Ristorante Il Teatro at 972 Rue Saint-Jean, Québec, QC G1R 1R5, & what an incredibly cool location! 🤩 Sitting there, you truly feel like you've been transported to Italy. There's a big, beautiful square right in front of you, accompanied by wonderful Italian music & magnificent dishes. It's an immersive experience! 🎶🇮🇹
The restaurant has a really interesting concept. There are two bars-one on the 5th floor & one on the ground floor-plus an indoor dining area & lovely terraces. You can even watch your food being prepared, as there's an open kitchen inside, & you can see everything through the windows. 👨?🍳🔥
The staff is incredibly polite & bilingual. They know the menu inside out & are great at recommending dishes. The fantastic music & refined Italian decor, clearly designed by a professional, add to the charm. We sat on the terrace, & the tables were simply superb, with a beautiful color scheme. The flowers, greenery, & excellent lighting created a perfect ambiance. 🌿🌸💡
The food is delicious-pure delicacy! The portions are very generous, & the presentation is exquisite. Every dish felt like a work of art. 🍝🍕

Belle ambiance, cuisine excellente. Nous avons beaucoup aimé. Seulement surpris du fait qu'il faut payer 6$ additionnel pour un petit plat de Foccacia & que la salade Caesar se vende 19$. Le vin était très honnête, à un prix raisonnable (58$).
Nous sommes globalement satisfaits tous les trois. Même la pluie s'est faite attendre, alors que nous allions chez vous à pieds.
Amazing Italian restaurant! The steak was absolutely delicious - packed with flavor & served with sesame leaves, garlic, & grilled potatoes for a perfect balance.
Their lunch menu is a great deal at $34, which includes one appetizer, one main course, & a cup of coffee or tea. The steak comes with a $12 surcharge, but trust me - it's totally worth it!
Nous avons été placé sur la terrasse juste à côté de la porte ce qui ne fut pas l'idéal à cause de va & vient continuel. Nous étions près du dépôt très bruyant des ustensiles & des assiettes ce qui n'était pas agréable. Le service était lent, mais la serveuse était très gentille & avenante, mais nous comprenons qu'elle était à ses débuts, avec peu d'expérience, mais pas très efficace. Nous avons eu nos entrées sans le vin que nous avons dû demander à plusieurs reprises alors que nous n'avions pas pris d'apéro & que le vin faisait office d'apéro. Inacceptable. On sert le vin en premier! Le carpacio de boeuf était excellent, belle présentation, beaucoup de parmesan ce qui fut très apprécié. La mozzarella frite était délicieuse, mais un morceau serait suffisant tout en diminuant le prix. La morue était succulente, bien présentée & les accompagnements délicieux. A reprendre.
Dans l'ensemble, excellent repas, mais service trop lent & plutôt décousu. La prochaine fois que nous irons voir un spectacle au Capitole, nous irons manger ailleurs sur la rue St-Jean.
