About

Saveurs de l'Inde specializes in the diverse culinary traditions of the Indian subcontinent by emphasizing the use of aromatic spices and traditional cooking techniques. The menu features a comprehensive selection of clay oven roasted tandoori dishes, slow-cooked meat curries, and vegetarian preparations that highlight lentils and fresh produce. Guests encounter a variety of textures through items like crispy vegetable pakoras, fluffy basmati rice, and warm, hand-stretched naan bread baked directly against the tandoor walls. The kitchen utilizes balanced spice profiles to differentiate between mild kormas and more pungent, heat-forward vindaloos. The atmosphere reflects a functional and focused approach to classic South Asian cuisine, prioritizing consistent preparation methods and the integration of fragrant herbs. This establishment provides a direct representation of regional Indian recipes designed for authentic flavor profiles.

Review Summary

Saveurs de l'Inde is frequently recognized as a favorite spot in Quebec for Indian cuisine, with many patrons praising the generous portions, affordable prices, and delicious signature dishes like butter chicken. While the atmosphere is often described as welcoming and the service as friendly and efficient, experiences are polarized, as some diners report issues with the sweetness of certain dishes, inconsistent food quality, or challenges with service attentiveness and language barriers. Despite mixed reviews regarding authenticity and specific preparation methods, the restaurant maintains a loyal customer base that values its long-standing presence and pleasant dining environment.

I personally like the yellow 👍 👌 vegetarian dish with the rice almonds nuts variants. I have high blood pressure circulation & Diabetes. It helps with a immune system against Alzeimers Disease & Irritability. Don't always listen to rude snobby comments everybody is different it maybe not be perfect but I kind of understand the psychological frustration. I have traveled to Costa Rica 🇨🇷 the culture is very different from Quebec very true..

I ordered, Shrimp Briyani, Veg Pulao, Butter Shrimp, Naan & Lamp Korma. I am kind of disappointed with what I received as the shrimp briyani was too spicy as well as the pulao which was spicy & different. The Pulao was different in the sense that there was a plat of rice & a place of spicy veg curry that had to be mixed to eat up! Not the kind of Pulao I ever ate in my life.

I did as if it was spicy as I have small kids, they did say yes but in the end it was too spicy. I wasn't happy with my phone order also, the person I talked with couldn't advise much based on my requirement of small kids & elderly who can't eat spicy food!

I unfortunately didn't find the authentic Indian food!

Added Cole slaw on top of lamb biriyani, should avoid that. Meat was over cooked. The raita was just yogurt with some weird spice & big chunks of cucumber. They should to whisk the yogurt & finely chop the cucumber. We did not order a vegetable dish but still received it. The packing containers quality can be improved.
