Va Bene Bar Antipasto is a charming and highly regarded destination in Quebec City, celebrated for its authentic Italian cuisine and warm, intimate atmosphere. Guests frequently praise the exceptional level of service, often highlighting the professional and attentive staff who elevate the dining experience. A standout feature for many is the tableside preparation of pasta in a parmesan wheel, which provides both a delicious meal and a memorable interactive show. While the restaurant is noted for its cozy, smaller size, the majority of visitors describe their meals as high-quality, fresh, and consistently flavorful, with the tiramisu frequently highlighted as a must-try dessert. Whether visiting for a special celebration or a casual meal, guests often express a strong desire to return, solidifying the restaurant's reputation as a standout culinary gem in the heart of Petit Champlain.
Gracias. Super recomendado.
The food was amazing. We ordered pistachios pasta, braised lamb, & carbonara pasta. Carbonara was very dry, but the rest were delicious. The waiter was a little bit cocky but everything else was great.
Located in thee heart of Petit Champlain, we were happy to find a restaurant with a dog-friendly patio. The service stood out - very attentive, friendly, & welcoming!
The food was mixed. The carpaccio was delicious, but the antipasto came with bread that felt quite dry & the pasta was overcooked & a bit mushy. The tiramisu, however, was excellent & a clear highlight of the meal.
Very good dinner on a rainy night. Va Bene is a busy place on a tourist street in the old town, & is a good spot to watch les gens qui passant. The pasta was quite good & service cheerful & prompt.
Tiny claustrophobia-inducing place. The antipasto was fine, but the pasta dishes are lackluster, the bolognese was dry - sucked the life out of the room. $9 bottles of wine for $12 a glass. Tourist trap. Yikes.
The service & atmosphere was great. The place is small & cozy-chic. We had the flambé pasta with a glass of wine & the tiramisu. While the tiramisu & wine was exquisite we were a bit disappointed in the pasta as some were undercooked. The sauce was ok but not as outstanding as we expected from a place like this. However, the beef cheek garnish was delicious. As such, we will come back to taste their different options & have another taste of their fabulous dessert.
My name is Vincent Muambi. Last week, two friends & I visited this restaurant during the holiday. I ordered the pasta dinner, & it was absolutely terrific. This was my first time experiencing authentic Northern Italian cuisine from the Bologna region, & I was thoroughly impressed. It is well worth the price, & I look forward to returning later this year with my future wife!
Everything was wonderful!! The atmosphere amazing! The food - extraordinary. We did the pasta experience & the staff there really made it memorable. We didn't get a full picture of the finished dish but I think we had it with the beef tongue garnish & we all really enjoyed it!! It's such a quaint, cozy & remarkable restaurant. Highly recommend.
We had a wonderful dining experience here this week. The service was excellent, friendly, courteous, & attentive. The food was enjoyable, & while we've definitely had better pasta, this was a solid Quebec 5 compared to most other options. We especially enjoyed the flammable pasta; it was fun to watch, & they even let you step by the kitchen to see it being prepared. Overall, it was a lovely experience, though we do wish the space were a bit larger.
Helpful tip: Reservations are recommended, as not all tables are occupied. Be sure to request a booth even if you're dining as a couple, since the two-person tables are quite small & tight.
