Nous avons passé une excellente soirée ! Du plateau a l'entrée jusqu'au tiramisu au dessert, tout a été excellent! Nous avons adoré le service ainsi que l'ambiance. Déco très branché & la musique jazz des années 50 nous amène dans un univers plus que parfait !
After a week in Canada sampling North-American cuisine we were ready for some European home comforts! Our experience at Va Bene was perfect. Everything from the food, the ambiance, the service was 5*. Proper Italian cookery in the heart of Old Town, at a great price. We had the Guanciale Di Manzo (Beef Cheek) & Tiramisu. Would highly recommend.
The open kitchen afforded views of them making the parmesan pasta, a featured, tasty, but a tad overpriced for the portion size. The waitstaff was amazingly attentive & spoke fluent English while explaining dishes & recommendations. We enjoyed sharing one of the tiered platters, others enjoyed the pasta (above mentioned) feature, but felt that it should have come with a side salad for that price, the other enjoyed his beef. The atmosphere is quaint, the presentation of meals lovely & the tiramisu is nicely portioned to share!

Très décevant service de la part de Philippe. J'ai mentionné avoir une allergie aux fruits de mer sévère... & ce fut compliqué faire des accommodations. Il trouve finalement une accommodation. Par la suite vient le moment où il me sert de l'eau & il en renverse dans mon huile/balsamique & ne m'en a pas rapporté un autre. Il a fait « comme s'il a pas vue ». Finalement, vient le dessert: le tiramisu. Il était complètement détrempé, mou. Il m'a offert de m'en apportez un autre. Mais...il était autant détrempé que le précédent. 2-3 minutes après, il vient me voir avec un air passif-agressif & me demande ce que j'en pense. Je lui dis qu'il a la même texture que le précédent & je lui montre tout le café accumulé dans le fond. Il me dit qu'il « en sert des centaines par semaine, que c'est toujours comme ça » Pour le prix qu'on paye je trouve ça dommage un service de la sorte alors que ce qu'on a demandé était tout à fait valable. J'espère que vous allez faire des changements au niveau du service, car parler à des clientes de la sorte c'est irrespectueux...
La nourriture était excellente & de très bonne qualité. Le tiramisu est excellent. Très bon service de la part du serveur. Je vais définitivement y retourner bientôt pour essayer d'autres plats du menu!
Nous avons mangé ici pour ma fête. La salle à manger était très cozy, parfait pour des repas en couple ou petit groupes. Le seul hic était qu'on était assis à la table juste avant celle avec la fenêtre au bout de la section, & c'était un peu plate car en arrière de moi était peu d'espace, encore moins à cause du porte-manteau... la serveuse etait habituée, sauf il fallait quand même faire attention pour les passages à la fenêtre. La serveuse & le staff étaient quand mêmes très chaleureux, à l'écoute, pouvant repondre (au moins des expressions) en italien (une belle touche à l'atmosphère). La bouffe était excellente, jumellée avec la bonne birra à l'italienne (brassée à Sorel) ainsi que du bon vin de qualité - le tout servi avec un sourire. Un bon tiramisu traditionnel servi à la fin... en tout cas on mange comme un italien avec des prix raisonnables. Suggestion de ne pas s'y asseoir ou y avoir une table sauf si on est solo. Overall, still a numero uno restaurant!

Went twice during my stay & the food was beyond incredible!! Everything is made fresh, open kitchen you can see it all being made specially if u sit at the bar, the tiramisu is to die for do not pass it up!
Un VRAI restaurant italien à Québec ! Service très agréable, le repas était délicieux & copieux, le tiramisu succulent ❤️ D'origine italienne, j'ai retrouvé les goûts de chez moi, j'ai hâte de revenir pour découvrir d'autres plats :)
