We were seated at a nice table & enjoyed the quaint, cozy-meets-modern ambiance. Unfortunately, 2 of the 3 pasta dishes we ordered arrived cold (the Bolognese & the Pesto). The Bolognese was not only cold, but also the blandest we've ever had, & the pesto had potential but it was wasn't served hot enough to enjoy (it wasn't even warm).

No one checked on us during the main course, which was disappointing. Had they done so, we would have let them know about the issue. Instead, we ended up eating the food cold, since it was a late night reservation, & we were starving, & we didn't want to make the evening uncomfortable for the other couple we were dining with.

This was especially disheartening because we had been looking forward to eating here for months, ever since we couldn't get a reservation on our last trip to Quebec. Sadly, the pasta didn't live up to the hype.

On a positive note, the flambé Alfredo pasta was good, as was the tiramisu. However, we ran into another frustration with the flambé Alfredo pasta: we requested it without meat or shrimp (due to dietary restrictions 2 people in our party had) but were told the price would be the same regardless. This meant we had to order the proteins on the side, even though no one really wanted them. It would be nice if the restaurant offered a vegan version at a fairer price...or at least provided some form of consideration, like a complimentary dessert, to account for paying for items we couldn't eat. (We paid $80 for plain Alfredo pasta for 2, definitely wasn't worth that price)

Délicieux plateau pour 2 en repas. Magnifique terrasse dans le petit Champlain où l'on se sent en vacances! J'ai fait découvrir l'endroit à mes parents qui ont aussi adoré. Les serveurs étaient très aimables, rien à dire de négatif.

Our lunch was very enjoyable. Enjoyed the salad & plater. Pasta was a little dry but flavour nice. The risotto was lovely. The ravioli was not our favourite.

We celebrated my birthday during our honeymoon there yesterday! Right off the bat, Jeremy & the team of servers were welcoming, attentive, friendly & professional! They knew we were celebrating a special occasion & gave us a cosy & private table. Their food was amazing, but on top of that, truly their service & hospitality made the lasting impression. We'll definitely come back next time when we're in old Quebec again!

I didn't take pictures of all the food because they were too good - devoured them a little too fast. 😂 Definitely try their sharing pasta if you're visiting - they show you how they make it fresh in front of you!

Superbe soirée au Va Bene. Personnel tellement gentil & nourriture délicieuse. Merci pour le beau cadeau pour notre 10ième anniversaire de mariage. Nous allons revenir.

Lovely small patio on a historic road. Excellent food at a reasonable price & great wines by the glass! A beautiful setting & the Fenicule (vertical railway) steps away to wisk you back to Duffern Terrace & beautiful old town! Highly recommended!

Service was also top notch. A great experience!

They change the menu seasonally so I'll definitely be coming back. Waiters were wonderful. Food was incredible, especially the pesto rigatoni & beef carpaccio. I wasn't too crazy about the lamb with risotto in wine sauce, but my girlfriend loved it.
