We are staying at the hotel & decided to eat here out of convenience - & what a happy surprise it turned out to be. Wonderful cooking, & lovely service. Oysters were fresh & delicious & The butcher's cut for two is a must-order. We couldn't have been happier that we stayed in for dinner.
Lovely spot in this 5-star hotel. Our server, Julia, was professional, attentive & excellent! The piano music by Ali, absolutely enhanced the experience... so talented & enjoyable. We stopped into the bar this evening... Guillaume's martini's were spot on... a fine young man with helpful recommendations.
On our first visit to Quebec City, we booked a room at Auberge St. Antoine. We chose to have dinner at Bar Artefact on our first night since we arrived late in the day. Our waiter was attentive & knowledgeable about the menu & in answering our questions. My husband ordered the beef tourtiere & was extremely impressed with the presentation & the flavors. His only complaint was that it wasn't large enough! I ordered a dinner sized ceasar salad & delicious risotto croquettes for my meal; tasty & not too heavy after a long day of travel. Just right all around! It is definitely worth a visit whether you are staying at the hotel or just visiting the area. Wonderful service & meal.

Stopped by on my last day in town since I was staying at the hotel. The bar sat right in the lobby, overlooking a small exhibit featuring a historic cannon under the staircase. They're apparently better known for their weekend afternoon tea, which explained why it was nearly empty on a weekday afternoon.
The cocktail list leaned traditional. Mostly spirit-forward classics built around gin, rum, & vodka. Not much in the way of creativity or modern flair. I went with Corn & Oil, which was a good classic, though not exactly what I was in the mood for.
Food was underwhelming overall. The oysters were fine (which is a low bar in Quebec), & the truffle fries were solid, but the fish crudo was bad. The combo of endive, melon, & fish sounded interesting, but the melon was unripe & the fish wasn't very fresh.
Maybe I just ordered the wrong things, but for the price (& the setting) it should've been better.
We are staying at the hotel & have had drinks & dinner at the restaurant. Drinks at the bar were great with excellent service.
Dinner however was quite a different experience. The service was very slow. Food was not timed well as we received our starter & then immediately after the main. We waited such a long time for water, refilling our drinks & subsequent courses. Additionally the thanksgiving dinner was not seasoned well & not served with the described items.
The lasagne was very good although a small portion.
I am not sure the restaurant reflects the accolades of the hotel.
This is a very busy bar restaurant & the servers perform many jobs, but all that aside they managed to arrange a perfect dinner for me. In am vegan & no oil, Because of a heart issue. They were so accommodating. Elissa really helped us out. We had a delicious meal & stay at the hotel .
All good, except for the long duration. 20 minutes to get water on the table, 90 minutes for the most basic of orders. Totally inconsistent with the standard of service which every other component of the hotel excels in.
We arrived to the hotel & managed to book a late meal. Two of us ordered the Crispy Cod & the other 2 in the party some other dishes. Our Cod arrived & was completely cold! It then took a few minutes to attract the attention of the server & ask was it meant to be cold? The answer was no - would we like another meal - we said no we would like waht we ordered & please tell the chef! When the replacements finally came our friends were already finished but at least the meals were hot! We found this completely unsatisfactory for the quality of the hotel or for that matter - any restaurant & no adjustment was made to our bill! I hope this review can prevent this happening to any future guests.
