Stumbled upon this place while walking around the city. Menu looked intriguing (Mac & cheese gnocchi caught our eye specifically), read the reviews & decided to give it a go & it did not disappoint! One of our best meals during our trip in Quebec (Montreal, Quebec City, further east)! Love all the local items on their menu. The sommelier Gélinas suggested this local Quebec orange wine & it was incredible. He also offers pairings with each course if you prefer! Ordered the cheese board (Quebec cheeses), French onion soup, halibut & Mac & cheese & it was all amazing. Portion sizes are also very generous! Great vibe & decor inside. They have a private room downstairs for parties up to 6 people it looked like! Don't miss this place! Lots of people had resos but we got lucky with some bar seats!
6+ Stars ⭐? Jovan & staff were so welcoming from the moment we walked in. Jovan was just opening & so it was perfect timing for lots of personal attention & recommendations. My husband & I asked Jovan to choose for us & to wine pair his food selections.
It was a magical evening with some of the best food & dishes I have ever had.
The sea scallops, followed by an amazing Mushroom bruschetta topped with Foie Gras. Ohmygoodness, it was so good. For our main course we split the Lamb Shank. It was incredible & splitting allowed room for the best Crème Brûlée ever! My husband had the white mousse surrounded by chocolate. You know it was so good when you wake up talking about your meal. Jovan has incredible knowledge of wines & everything was perfectly paired & balanced with each dish. I will be dreaming about my dinner for a long time. Highly recommend.
Wonderful dinner at Beclub! The boar fillet was outstanding & cooked perfectly! Alexander took great care of us & recommended a couple of wonderful wines to accompany our meals.
Very pleasant experience. My husband & I chose the special appetizer & entree, & absolutely loved both. The French red wine on the menu was fabulous.
The wait person, whose name we don't recall (sorry), was lovely.
Highly recommend!
Beclub was a highlight of our stay in Quebec City-we liked it so much we went twice. The food was terrific: highlights were a perfectly cooked halibut & an exceptional vegan entrée of creamy barley & carrot risotto with fennel-apple salad & cashews, one of the best plant-based dishes we've ever had.
The ambiance is warm & inviting, with two floors of comfortable chairs, couches, & rustic wooden slab tables. Service was excellent, with the owner offering knowledgeable food & wine recommendations.
We identified this restaurant using Google & what a find it was. The welcome was great the sommelier knew his wine & gave great recommendations. The food was outstanding. What a great way to spend our last night in Quebec City. PS we even introduced the Beatles fan, sommelier to a new word'Scouser'. Oh & I can't forget the lovely hostess from France who has a doppelgänger in the UK!
What a cozy, welcoming experience this restaurant creates. It is decorated beautifully & the lighting fosters a warm, intimate environment. Our server/sommelier, Giovanni was wonderfully friendly. We weren't familiar with many of the wines they offered, so he paired excellent choices with all of our courses. The food was top notch, a great selection of classic French cooking made with local ingredients. Highly recommend, 10/10!
