I wanted to try an authentic old Quebec breakfast experience & found this place, it was lovely, outdoor seating, indoor & a second floor seating to accommodate all of its customers, was greeted & seated within a minute of arriving, it is a very busy place so it did take a little while to get our food but I have no complaints about that, you could see how busy they are so it was expected, they offer homemade bread & it was amazing! The potatoes & sausage wasnt what i am used to but it was still great, cost for 2 breakfast was 31$ with the tax, & we did leave there feeling full & satisfied

Quality food & busy place, you will probably have to wait. Slow service, & they have a big problem with the fruit flies inside (next to the bar) & in the toilets.

One of the most amazing & authentic place in all of quebec with actual history & experience you will truly appreciate. Take the seat on the sidewalk for a sunny outdoor experience or indoors for a busy experience. My favorite is the upper floor that has a history & id well suited for large groups & merry making. Back opens to a beautiful ally. If you enter from the front, be sure to exit from the back if its your first visit.

Group of 4, 2 said 5/5 for food (breakfast poutine & ratatouille), one said 2/5(fish n chips) & my pea soup was 4/5. Staff friendly, service excellent (water refilled quickly, dirty dishes cleared quickly, no pressure to leave). Cool breeze & in shade on a hot day. Was a gem to find in old Quebec. It was busy so gave us an indication it was a great place. Lived up to it.

After reading reviews, I decided for the best onion soup you may ever have: an abundant amount of goodness. The lunch menu has an upgrade option with soup & coffee. So, the meat pie was the king of this castle. The simple side of vegetables was elegant, had a family-kind of cooking, like if a grandma is making sure you eat delicious greens happily. The staff, did I just meet them? Such a friendly crew!! & their regulars were instant friends, & make sure you are a neighbor. I went for lunch, off peak hours on a lazy afternoon. I know it gets busy, so plan your visit.

After reading the glowing reviews about this restaurant, we stopped by for breakfast during our trip to Quebec City.
I was wildly excited about their eggs Benedict, but I couldn't have been more disappointed. Everything was completely flavorless. No seasoning, no lemon, & the hash brown potatoes were barely cooked.
On top of that, the service was disappointingly slow. At busy restaurants, I would normally give a wide berth. But in this case, you could see the servers just standing around talking. There was no sense of urgency. This is one breakfast spot I will not return to. Highly recommend looking for something else.

The food was really good, just not'great' but I will definitely return to try other menu items. The staff were friendly & the service was very good. I must have arrived at a good time because it wasn't very busy (also less people in the area in winter, I guess).
I'll be back for sure next time I'm in Québec.

They are busy & popular for a reason. Food is really, really good. I was in Québec city for 2 days & went twice. The service is impeccable even with a full place. Highly recommend!!
