Guests frequently praise the delicious breakfast menu, noting the exceptional quality of dishes like eggs Benedict, poutine, and traditional meat pies, often accompanied by homemade strawberry jam. Great breakfast spot with a cozy, classic diner feel. The portions are big & the prices are reasonable. I tried the crepe & eggs Benedict, & it was really satisfying. The eggs Benedict was creamy with rich hollandaise sauce, & the potatoes on the side were nicely cooked. The service was friendly & welcoming. A solid place for a filling breakfast in Québec.

Blonde waitress got both our orders wrong & had attitude when I was asking for certain options removed from my dish. Also got the wrong eggs in another dish

Great breakfast. Like La Bûche, it felt like we were eating amazing homemade food.

We shared an omelette, crêpes, & eggs Benedict.

Everything we ordered was a better version of familiar items.

After reading the glowing reviews about this restaurant, we stopped by for breakfast during our trip to Quebec City.
I was wildly excited about their eggs Benedict, but I couldn't have been more disappointed. Everything was completely flavorless. No seasoning, no lemon, & the hash brown potatoes were barely cooked.
On top of that, the service was disappointingly slow. At busy restaurants, I would normally give a wide berth. But in this case, you could see the servers just standing around talking. There was no sense of urgency. This is one breakfast spot I will not return to. Highly recommend looking for something else.

The restaurant in Old Quebec offers an authentic dining experience with its classic decor & meticulously prepared dishes.

We ordered the Eggs Benedict, fish & chips, club sandwich, & pudding for dessert, each dish was executed very well. The Eggs Benedict had a creamy hollandaise sauce, the fish was crispy, & the club sandwich was generously filled with nice ingredients with a generous portion. The pudding was a delightful finish, rich, sweet & satisfying.

The service was exceptional, with staff being friendly, attentive, & genuinely helpful.

Buffet de l'Antiquaire feels like the place breakfast has been quietly training for its whole life. It is classic québécois from the moment the plates arrive, but there is something more going on than just two eggs & bacon. Everything tastes like the best version of itself. The potatoes are fried exactly as they should be, golden & just shy of guilty. Eggs land on the plate cooked to the point where they make sense without any negotiation. Bacon holds that delicate line between crisp & chewy. Pancakes sit right between American fluff & French crepe softness, which somehow feels exactly right for this city.

I went a bit off script & ordered pain doré with Migneron cheese. It came out as a small revelation, the cheese tipping the whole thing into that perfect balance of salty & sweet that makes it hard to talk while eating. It felt like breakfast deciding to dress up for the occasion. The charm of the place stretches beyond the plate. Reaching it by walking along rue Sous le Cap turns the meal into a quiet little ritual, with one of the most photogenic streets in Quebec City setting the stage. It is the kind of morning that lingers in the mind, even once the last trace of maple syrup is gone.
