Buffet de L'Antiquaire is widely celebrated as a quintessential destination for authentic Quebec comfort food, offering hearty portions and a warm, classic diner atmosphere that resonates with both locals and visitors alike. Guests frequently praise the delicious breakfast menu, noting the exceptional quality of dishes like eggs Benedict, poutine, and traditional meat pies, often accompanied by homemade strawberry jam. While the restaurant is popular and can experience wait times, many diners find the high-quality food, attentive and friendly service, and reasonable prices make it well worth the visit, with several people even returning multiple times during their stay in the city.
We tried this place for dinner because of the prices, we didn't expect much & wow were we wrong! This place is so delicious we went back for breakfast the day after & it was even better, Benedictine eggs will be forever in my heart, really loved it! The staff is very kind. Queuing for this place is so worth it, will definitely go back if I ever return to Quebec City.
Solid breakfast choice. Great eggs benedict & coffee. It's a touch on the crowded side but I suppose that's how they keep the wait times short. Went twice for breakfast when in Québec. Would definitely go again next time.
This is great breakfast place to try some of the Quebec local food, they have some customised menu for the travellers too, we arrived here around 10 am, this place gets crowded very fast, we had to wait outside for 15 mins & got seated in the balcony, we loved the ambience & decor, food wise we tried some local food in menu like shepherds pie & one more Quebec style pie, we were not great fans for it, we also ordered some American breakfast fast & that came very good, the eggs Benedict is the must try at this place. The coffee & drinks were too good, would highly recommended this place & if you not big fan of trying new dishes, I recommend to stay with the usual's.

Dont listen to the handful of bad reviews...we almost did, & almost missed out on an awesome breakfast, excellent service & a vibrant atmosphere. Eggs benny tres magnifique! Line up to get in but so worth it!
Came for breakfast & my overall review is that it was just okay. Nothing really special about it. It's just a standard breakfast place. We got seated quickly, as it was just 2 of us. Any groups of 3+ people were waiting for a very long time. Once seated, we waited for quite some time before flagging someone down & asking to see a menu. Menu items are pretty standard for a breakfast place. Eggs, omelettes, benedict's, combos, etc. we got the Benedict & one of the breakfast combos. The benedict was not bad. Everything was cooked well, & tasted good. The breakfast combo was quite simple, with nothing really standing out. A few small eggs, a few small slices of bacon/sausage, some potatoes, & some meat pie, which was just alright. If we could rate individual menu items, we would give the coffee a 1 star. We were seated outside, where the tables were quite narrow. Not a lot of room, but it was nice to have fresh air. Prices were the best part of this meal. For the location, a $15-$20 breakfast was a great deal. However, we will not be coming back. We unfortunately did not research other breakfast places, & walked around aimlessly looking for breakfast. This location was the only breakfast place with reasonable prices that had available seating.
By far the best egg benedict I've ever had. Portions were insane as well, great service! It's in Vieux-Port, so of course your space to eat is going to be small, but the food makes up for it !! highly recommend
Our first time in the city & what a wonderful experience!!! Unexpectedly generous portions, beautifully cooked (french toast, eggs Benedict & omelette) & the home made bread is superb!! Highly recommend this place for the value, the cozy atmosphere & the friendly, efficient staff.
Pros: -Not very expensive -The sausage & ham tasted well -The service was clumsy because the restaurant was full, but nice & fast Cons: -The Benedictine eggs of 3 out of 5 plates were not oozing, but hard cooked -The hot chocolate is industrial, but comes with the meal
Fantastic eggs benedict perfect poahed eggs. Food is made with alot of care. Meat pie is fantastic & well seasoned. Service is exemplary. Old diner charm. Great music. My favourite go to place while in Quebec city.
