Edited review : went back after 4 years & this time had a much pleasant experience. Food was way better, everything tasted great & the service was terrific, Previously the homemade strawberry jam & caramel sauce was the hero but this time around the pudding dessert was the star. If eating at the restaurant I would definitely recommend them.

Excellent food in a very interesting & fun environment. We had Louise as our server both times we were there & she is so much fun. The breakfast poutine was awesome as were the shepherds pie.

Ce restaurant offre autant un menu casse croûte qu'un menu traditionnel de la cuisine Québécoise.

Le ragoût 🍲 goûtait vraiment celui fait par ma grand-maman.

La cipaille était délicieuse & reflétait la vrai tourtière 🥧 du Lac Saint-Jean. Bien qu'un peu sec.

Mon seul bémol vient d'une serveuse. Je trouve déplacé qu'elle appelle les employés mon bébé, mon choux où de pleins de petits noms. De plus, elle a chialer bêtement & froidement & nous a demandé à nous déplacer parce que nous avions pris une table de 4 alors que nous sommes que 2 seulement. Après elle semblait avoir réalisé son erreur & a tenté de le dissimuler sous forme de plaisanterie mais le mal fut déjà fait.

Mis à part ça, ce fut une belle expérience.

Went for dinner with a toddler. Arrived at 6pm. The food was good. The portion sizes were massive. The menu was easy to read. They had matching pictures to names & descriptions. I ordered the le cipaille & was super satisfied. The atmosphere was nice & homey. The food hit the spot after a long day of traveling. I highly recommend visiting. My wife got the special sandwich of the day which turned out to be a pastrami sandwich & came with a lot of meat & had lots of flavor. Wait staff was super patient with our party & toddler.
