We visited here during our Quebec City trip & left feeling let down by the service. For context, we had great experiences everywhere else in the city, but this one stood out for the wrong reasons.

From the start, our water glass was dirty. We waited a long time to order & eventually had to flag someone down. We later learned you're expected to close your menu to signal readiness, it was explained to us in a tone that made us feel like we should have already known, it's just not the welcoming approach you'd expect from a restaurant that serves tourists daily. To add to that, we noticed other tables having their orders taken with menus still open, so it wasn't even applied consistently.

The overall tone from the server felt dismissive throughout. Our food arrived later than tables ordered after us, including a larger party, & he forgot one of my requests. The food itself was decent but unremarkable.

Quebec City has so many wonderful dining options, we would encourage other visitors to explore those instead.

I had dinner here during a trip to Quebec, hoping to try some typical local dishes. We ordered the assiette québécoise & the cipaille, as well as dessert, the pouding.
I can't compare the main dishes because I had never tried them before, but for my taste some of the flavors were a bit strong; my husband's cipaille, for me, would have been far too intense. As for the pouding du chômeur, having tried it at another restaurant, I was a little disappointed. I don't know what the original recipe is, but personally I preferred the other one.
Overall, it was a pleasant experience, though I'm not sure I would return.

Came by here on a Saturday evening - there's a line everywhere in the area. The wait for 8 diners was about 20 mins.

The manager was direct but friendly & accommodating. We ordered the items that had the Quebec logo next to it- the Cippaille (pastry+meat stack), smoked meat platter & the Assiettes des Québécois (pork pie with maple baked beans). Food came reasonably soon after orders & was quite well portioned.

Happy to have turned up here.

We went here for our final breakfast & it was overall pretty disappointing. The food was very mediocre. My husband's omelette literally had a piece of what looked like an unmelted Kraft American Single in it. Ewww. None of our food was very warm & it was just okay. We did enjoy the quaint atmosphere & the French toast was decent. We found it odd though that we were told not to join tables for our family of 5, & instead guided over to a corner table for 6, only to watch the wait staff join the exact same tables two minutes later for another party that had just shown up. Anyway, we certainly wouldn't go back, with all the other better breakfast options in Old Town Quebec.

Absolutely loved the poutine, it came recommended & we are so happy we stopped by to try it. Compared to what we have in western Canada this was on a whole other level. I didn't think poutine could be that different compared to what I've known, but I was wrong. Quebec does it better, anyone who says otherwise hasn't been or is delusional. It's worth the stop.

On a fait deux petits déjeuner & un repas de midi à emporter.
C'est vraiment bon & l'assiette gourmet est parfaite pour commencer la journée.
Seul bémol, ça peut prendre du temps pour commander & être servi, manque de chances junior n'était pas hyper patient...
