We had no idea of what to expect & ended up having the best surprise ever! We had a great - & rare - Italian orange wine with duck ham (!!!), duck egg, duck hearts & tuna belly grilled ln charcoal. I have to say that the tuna was the star of the night. I've never tried something like this before & I'm in love. Thanks, Buvette Scott, for providing such good moments that will become heartwarming memories.

Sadly, Buvette Scott was a miss for us. We came in for an 8:30 dinner & ordered the swordfish, lobster, gnudi, & morel mushroom/duck egg dish. While our server was WONDERFUL & served/explained all our dishes in detail & provided us with excellent wine, many of the dishes fell short in our opinion for the price compared to some of the other places we ate at while in town. The swordfish was served very rare, which I have always been taught is a'no no' while working in fine dining for over a decade (I have been out of the service industry for 15 years, so I do realize things change, but the dish took me off guard). I enjoyed the swordfish, my husband did not.The mushroom/duck egg dish was wonderful, no complaints there. The lobster dish was a MAJOR letdown; it was 3 potatoes covered in buerre blanc sauce with 4 TINY pieces of cold lobster on top. It should be sold as a potato dish, NOT a lobster dish. The cold lobster was odd with the hot potatoes & sauce. The gnudi had a wonderful texture & the pasta part was a showstopper, BUT the sauce tasted just like chef boyardee. It took me back to my childhood, but not in a good way! Overall, I just don't understand the rave reviews for the food here. Maybe we just hit an off night/week, but I would tell a visitor to Quebec City to go elsewhere if they only have a few nights.
Nous avons eu une très belle expérience à la buvette pour fêter l'anniversaire de mon père. La nourriture était délicieuse, bien travaillé & le rapport quantité-prix pour les plats était très bien (formule plats à partager). L'ambiance a un très beau cachet, de par l'esthétique des lieux & la musique qui est un système de vinyles! Nous avons été super bien servis par Marine - merci pour ton service 🙌🏻. Une très bonne adresse à Québec 🍽?💕

This is one of those restaurants where you know going into it that it's going to be an AMAZING overall experience. We sat at the bar, which I highly recommend. I feel like it gave a more personalized, intimate experience! They really made us feel like we were dining with an old friend! Our server/bartender was amazing!! He paired wine suggestions perfectly with the various things we ordered, & he gave us a glass of this DELICIOUS wine that he went & got specially for us from their wine storage. They were also playing vinyl & having so much fun putting on different records, adding even more to the cool, fun, but cozy atmosphere. We ordered a bunch of different things, & everything was so well-crafted & perfectly executed. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be the beef tartare. Definitely the best I've ever had. It was so tempting to try everything on the menu - & we almost did! This truly wasn't just *any* restaurant. This was an EXPERIENCE & one of the best ones at that. Buvette Scott, I will be back!!!
We had an incredible meal/experience at Buvette Scott, & it was a true highlight of our trip to Québec. Each plate (we had many!) was delicious & beautifully presented. The servers are all clearly passionate about both the food & wine, & were all incredibly friendly as well. The small space & intimate, casual atmosphere belies the quality & attention to detail in each dish. We feel fortunate to have stumbled upon it & implore anyone visiting Québec not to miss out on the experience.
Vincent was nice, helpful, informative, & answered all of our questions about the food, music, & favorite local places. Everyone at Buvette Scott was friendly. It was an intimate atmosphere with great music. We loved sitting at the bar & watching the food come together. The food was all so fresh & everything was delicious. We are so glad we got in! Thank you. Would highly recommend!
Thank you to the entire Buvette Scott team for this wonderful time in Quebec⭐⭐⭐. We are very happy to have stumbled upon this little rough diamond. Unlimited culinary creativity, honest, fresh ingredients & the staff is so kind that you could stay eating & drinking forever😉. It was beautiful & magical & we can't wait for our next visit.
