J'ai été tentée de visiter ce café même si j'ai souvent du mal avec le concept de base. J'espérais naïvement que ce soit différent ici à Québec. Je déconseille fortement l'endroit aux personnes très sensibles sur la condition animale. En effet, tout d'abord les chats semblent tous dégriffés. Il s'agit ni plus ni moins d'une amputation qui est d'ailleurs strictement interdite en Europe ainsi que récemment au Québec (début 2024) & ce, à juste titre. Il s'agit essentiellement de chats de race. J'ai pu néanmoins remarqué que lors que je suis venue, la majorité des clients respectaient l'espace des félins mais certains les traitent malheureusement comme des attractions touristiques.

Je pense qu'il n'y a pas tout à jeter dans ce genre d'endroits, puisqu'il peut être apaisant pour les humains tout en respectant les animaux même s'il faudrait mettre des règles plus strictes vis a vis de la clientèle. Cela pourrait permettre aussi de sensibiliser & d'éduquer bcp de personnes. Je n'ai pas trouvé que cela était le cas ici.

Le personnel a été néanmoins agréable & je ne leur jette pas non plus la pierre. J'espère simplement que mon message pourra sensibiliser & donner envie aux personnes de se renseigner sur le degriffage par exemple, & ce que cela peut impliquer chez l'animal.

I came to the cafe as a tourist visiting Quebec City on vacation. As a huge cat lover with three cats myself, I was excited to spot a cat cafe while riding the city bus & knew that I had to pay a visit.

To preface, I am shocked that this place has a 4+ star rating in its current state…

I went to the cafe on a weekday around 11am, & I was pretty shocked at how unsanitary & poorly kept the place was. Right away as you enter, you're instructed to take off your shoes for the cats' health, but the slippers they provide are very dirty & smell bad. I felt gross putting my feet in them. When you walk in, it smells like cat excrements & just has a dirty atmosphere. The upholstered furniture is absolutely covered in stains, probably from cat pee, but I'm not sure. The food preparation area is not separated from the cats, which seemed unsanitary, & I had cat fur in my latte.

Most of the cats seem comfortable enough, but I noticed that most (if not all of them) are declawed, which is very inhumane. I don't know if they came to the cafe that way or if the owners had that done to them. There was also a fluffy cat that was constantly growling & seemed to be in some pain, it was sad to watch how upset he was even while just grooming himself.

I went to the cafe with the intention of sitting for a while & reading a book, but I was so uncomfortable there I couldn't stay more than the time it took to drink my latte, which I only drank to not appear rude.

The reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the service was friendly & welcoming enough, & I really do support the mission of the cafe. However, there are some substantial improvements that should be made to the establishment to make it cleaner & more comfortable for guests.

Lovely resident cats, they clearly love the place, & I suppose that's the main thing.

Such a lovely spot to relax while waiting for a bus or train. The atmosphere is calm & cozy, made even better by the presence of several adorable cats. I was surprised to learn that they're all purebred cats, not just ordinary rescues as I had expected. They're very friendly - some even let guests pet them.
Also, I really enjoyed the food; the tomato soup I ordered was absolutely delicious!

Dès l'entrée se déchausser. Prévoir des chaussettes & lavage de mains. Cadre sympa, dommage les chats font la sieste.

This was an amazing experience, the staff are all very kind even to non French speakers! The food was amazing & very fast & it was a very calm & relaxing place to have lunch with my friend. The croissant & house made lemonade was amazing. I would definitely go again! Merci!

Les chats sont très acceuillant & ont biens entrainés leur humains

Plus serieusement le service est super & la cause d'aider les veterans avec leur santé mentale est tres importante
