Chez Boileau-bistro boreal was our best dinner while in Quebec City. Everything was exceptional.

Our party shared several dishes. The char carpaccio, seal meatloaf & scallops, & beef cheeks were all delicious. Our table shared 3 of the desserts & they were equally delicious! We also absolutely loved the wine/after dinner drink recommendations - the Domaine du Nival Pinot Noir & the Domaine Acer Charles Aime Robert 10 Ans d'Age Maple.

Our waitress was incredibly knowledgable & outlined every special that was offered for the Christmas season. I highly recommend the Christmas special appetizer that she told us about, it was full of new flavours! The ambience was cozy with warm lighting. We took the beef cheek & bison steak & both were great. But, the best was dessert: CREME BRULEE!!!! I would come back again & recommend it to my friends.

Quite possibly the most original, & inspired meal I have ever had. Tout était parfait!
Do not shy away from the seal meatloaf; it is phenomenal. If you're a beef or lamb lover, seal is not far off, flavour wise. I had the scallops as my main, served cassoulet-style with a barley risotto & tomato cream sauce.
Dessert was the pot de crème chocolat. Wonderful flavour & the hint of balsam fir was genius. A meal I'll remember for many years to come.

Exceptional service & attention to detail. Excellent presentation & taste. Ambiance is hip & friendly. Onion soup is light & superb as well as the Carpaccio ombré. Beef cheeks plate & scallops both had excellent presentations & taste. dessert was a light fruity Alanna Cotta & quite tasty. Excellent choice for a upbeat dinner.

A real treat for the palate. The dishes were crafted with the highest culinary intelligence. My mind was blown with each course. I love that I was able to try things that are not available anywhere else such as seal meatloaf & beef cheek braised for several days. The portions were just right as well. Servers knew the menu very well.

Exactly what your looking for in Quebec for food, atmosphere & service. The seal meat loaf was an adventurous dish & extremely delicious. The beef cheeks were heavenly as well as he streak in veal sauce. The chocolate dessert was probably one of the best things we've ever eaten.

We had wonderful & memorable evening. The food was absolutely delicious. We enjoyed the appetizer special of fish cake with shrimp on top. My husband ordered the scallops over risotto & I had the beef cheeks. The food was perfectly prepared & beautifully presented. Our waiter, Florent, suggested our wines with each course. The "icing on top" was our waiters humor. My husband likes to interact with people & Florent did not skip a beat. His funny comments left us with a throughly enjoyable culinary experience! Merci!!

Fois gras terrine slice was paper thin, served with a huge piece of stale brioche, barely toasted. Beef cheeks under seasoned, overrated. Celeriac upon celeriac!
