Competent, nice service but the were too busy for him to pay enough attention to us. Salad came out the same time as entree & waited 30 minutes for check. Cheese plate & entrees were excellent, dessert wasn't in same league. Solid wine by glass program.

In general, we were disappointed with the food. The lamb entree I ordered had quite a bit of fat, & my daughters pasta dish was small & unbalanced with too many mushrooms & hardly any pasta. We tried an ice cream sandwich dessert which was interesting but not very satisfying for someone with a sweet tooth. All in all, just not as good as we had expected.

La qualité des pièces était irréprochables, par contre 2 des 4 plats était pas chaud & un de ceux ci même froid. Le serveur nous la changer & offert un dessert compensation. N'empêche qu'un resto de cette réputation je m'attendais à ce que type de bévues n'arrive pas. Que dire du retrait des couverts par un autre serveur, qui n'a rien d'un garçon de table. Prendre le pic à pain le mettre dans l'assiette qui est toujours devant la personne & par la suite empiler les assiettes à pain une par dessus l'autre sur la table. Ce n'ai sûrement pas ce que M Boulay aurait apprécié. Pour terminer la musique « d'ambiance n'avais rien d'ambiance.

Boulay is a restaurant where the staff clearly cares about the diner experience. The food is cleverly conceived, the staff is attentive & the space is lively. This is our second time eating at Boulay & the Nordic-inspired boreal cuisine is something that the kitchen is serious about, including what I called a 'risky' dessert, the seabuckthorn meringue pie, which was beautifully made & had a curious flavor that was animalic & durian-like, but not in a bad way (I couldn't stop eating it because it was something I know we'll never have again).
Artful & thoughtful plating, intense flavors (every dot or swish was meaningful & stood on its own).
The cocktail with menaud & amernoir was outrageously good. Yes, we will recommend Boulay, & we'll be jealous of those who take us up on the recommendation.
Thank you for making our dinner a memorable experience & keep up the high level of cooking & service.

This was out 3rd visit to Chez Boulay & it has exceeded expectations every time. It is one of the best restaurants in Canada. The food is memorable & the staff are all well trained, professional, friendly & engaged. They made us feel that they were glad to have us there. On top of all that, the food is still the centre piece of this restaurant. We tried several dishes including appetizers & desserts & they were all excellent. We will be back the next time we visit Quebec City.

We should have dined with you every night! The food was delicious! The seared foie gras was excellent that we ordered another for dessert!
Melanie was the best server & tended to our every need! We will definitely return & will tell our friends!

Fish & scallops were tasty & well garnished. Dessert was spot on thanks to our waitress recommendation. Great service & would like to try out other dishes next visit.

Musique trop forte & 2 desserts bien ordinaires : pudding chômeur & crème brûlée: pas à la hauteur de votre réputation. Le personnel avait l'air très nerveux en salle.......bon vin de la région de Sandbanks. Macreuse & pétoncles délicieux

Un bruit infernal mesuré à 85 décibels nous avons été déçus de devoir manger dans un bruit , hurlements, d'un groupe adjacent à notre table, c'est honteux de ne pas avertir ses clients du bruit généré par les tables de Repas de congrès, de ce fait nous n'avons pas pris nôtre dessert pour se mettre au calme au plus vite .
Mauvaise expérience & mauvais souvenir.
