Pou moi, c'est un objectif culinaire accomplit! De ceux que je ne croyais pas un jour pouvoir faire. Une tablée chez boulay c'était un rêve!

Ma première erreur fut de mal interpréter l'horaire en vigueur & c'est un bruch auquel je m'étais présenté. Petit poing au coeur, moi qui voulait vivre une vraie expérience de dîner. Malheureusement mon retour annoncé vers Montréal ruine mes chances de me rattraper prochainement (fermeture le dimanche)! Qu'importe! Le menu m'inspirait tout autant!

Le service fut Impeccable! Parfait! Celle qui nous a servi était gentille, attentionné & dynamique!

J'ai opté pour le potage brocolis & courgettes : un délice!

Un mocktail frais & juste assez herbacées & subtilement sucré: miam!

Une assiette gourmande de "Macreuse de boeuf saisie, oeuf au plat, poutine & sauce hollandaise au sapin" avec un pain de sanglier en supplément: DIVIN!

Mais...la suite fut moins glorieuse. Si l'assiette de "Crêpes au mélilot, crème montée à l'érable de M. Pinette, petits fruits de l'île d'Orléans & tire-éponge" possédait des ingrédients savoureux lorsqu'ils étaient goûté un à un, le tout manquait d'équilibre. En vérité...tout baignait dans un coulis épais si sucré que tout était intolérablement sucré. Cela n'a pas passé. Le plat ne pouvait être manger entièrement c'était trop intense &...loin d'être à la hauteur de la réputation du restaurant & de ses chefs.

On m'a ensuite conseillé un dessert: une tartelette à l'érable. Lorsque j'ai reçu mon plat j'ai eu une immense déception en voyant ENCORE un bouillon sirupeux de bleuet. Un soupe de sucre...littéralement! Impossible de goûter l'érable. J'ai dû retirer une partie de la garniture trop sucré pour être consommé. Erf.

Bref des hauts & des grosses déceptions. Mes attentes pour le restaurant chez boulay étaient peut-être trop grandes. Mon admiration s'est assombrie. Je reste amère alors que j'ai conscience que tout n'était pas noir.

J'espère avoir l'occasion d'un jour y retourner pour effacer cette mauvaise impression laissé en quasi-finale de mon séjour.

J'avoue avoir le coeur lourd. J'avoue être déconcerté.
J'attendais plus & je ne peux croire que cette expérience est l'image véritable de ce menu!

Chez Boulay-bistro was outstanding! The starter of French onion soup was wonderful as were our entrees & dessert. The presentation was so interesting. The service was attentive but not excessive. I would highly recommend Chez Boulay.

Repas exceptionnel comme à l'habitude. Un régal pour les yeux, le nez & les papilles. Le cappuccino n'était pas du même standard par contre. Notre serveur aurait pu être un peu plus proactif pour nous proposer un cocktail par exemple... mais avec l'ambiance chaleureuse que nous adorons, ça reste un de nos restaurants préférés autant pour le brunch, le dîner ou le souper.

Délicieuse expérience au Boulay Bistro Boréal ! La soupe à l'oignon & la joue de boeuf étaient à tomber. Accueil chaleureux, service impeccable. Un régal pour les sens ! À ne pas manquer à Québec.

Wonderful! Best onion soup I've ever tasted. The whole meal was fantastic from the soup & cheese plate to the lamb, beef, & chicken. I don't know what they put in the crispy polenta but it was amazing. The service is above & beyond. Such a lovely meal!

Entrée avec tomates très froides...C'est bien meilleur température pièce. Soupe à l'ognon ,je n'ai pas aimé & pouding chômeur décevant. Pour le reste c'était bon. Le pain, le flétan & le vin. Pour $300.00 , je m'attendais à plus.

Excellent restaurant. Good vibe but it did get a little noisy when a group of young men sat down next to us but management moved us to a quieter table. Onion soup was extraordinary. Bison tartare excellent & the main courses were outstanding. Put this restaurant on your most go to list when in Quebec City.
