With their rigorous climate marked by a distinct seasonal cycle, northern territories are gifted with unique fauna and flora adapted to their extreme reality: game, fresh water fish, wild fruit, forest mushrooms, lichen… inspired by these unique elements, a rising number of chefs are exploring this once neglected exceptional culinary legacy.

Service & hospitality were meh during our recent visit. We arrived for our 9:15 PM reservation, which was the exact time slot the restaurant permitted us to book. After receiving our initial basket of bread, we politely asked for more, only to be told they had run out because the kitchen was already closed.

It is completely unacceptable to accept a 9:15 PM reservation knowing full well when your kitchen closes & then refuse guests basic service like bread while they are in the middle of their meal. Claiming to be entirely out of bread is difficult to believe, especially given the dismissive attitude of the staff.

The food itself did not make up for the poor experience. The seabass we did receive was overcooked, & while the beef cheek was okay, it was far from amazing. For a full order of two appetizers, two entrées, appetizers & two glasses of wine, this level of treatment is inexcusable. Management needs to reassess how they treat late slot reservations.

Everything was amazing from start to finish - lovely atmosphere, great service, & mouthwatering food! The flat iron steak & the onion soup were definitely highlights but everything was delectable & we would absolutely come here again

My Husband & I had a wonderful evening at Chez Boulay last night! The atmosphere, the impeccable service & the delicious dinner made everything perfect! We could not have a chosen a better restaurant for our last night in the beautiful City of Quebec.

Expérience incroyable sur toute la ligne! Nous avons adoré la nourriture, les drinks, le vin, l'emplacement, l'ambiance, & surtout, le service qui était absolument incroyable! Un excellent service avec un serveur très gentil & très agréable! Nous avons cependant oublié son nom! Mais c'est un gros 10/10 & nous reviendrons assurément!

The service was amazing. I had to bring my dog last minute & the staff was nice enough to arrange a table on the terrace. The food was great, especially their recommended classics. The only unfortunate thing was that one of the desserts, the brioche, was a bit dry. Other than that, everything was lovely.

They really make sure you have a great experience. The service was excellent, & the food was really good.
I was there with my kids, so I'd love to see a few more options for them on the menu.
Definitely a great spot if you're looking to impress someone :)

Standout dishes were the pork loin special, onion soup, & sea buckthorn tart. They also make it a point to have at least one vegetarian entree as well. The wait staff was very friendly & attentive.
