In Quebec, Jean-Luc Boulay and Arnaud Marchand, supported by a passionate team, have been standing up to the challenge of inventing quebec inspired northern cuisine since 2012. We had a wonderful lunch at Chez Boulay during our visit to Quebec City. We made reservations in advance & were pleasantly surprised by the incredible value of their $30 prix fixe lunch menu. For the quality of food & overall experience, it felt like an amazing deal.

This was also my first time trying Nordic Québécois cuisine, which made the experience even more memorable. The flavour combinations & ingredients felt very unique, refined, & thoughtfully curated. I was genuinely impressed.

The flavours throughout the meal were vibrant, fresh, & showcased high quality ingredients. Our favourite dishes were the bruschetta & the beetroot salad, both of which tasted incredibly fresh & full of flavour. The fish dish was also excellent & surprisingly hearty & comforting.

We upgraded to the tiramisu for an additional $6. While it was enjoyable, it did not quite reach the same level as the other dishes we had during the meal.

Our server was also fantastic, very friendly, funny, & provided excellent customer service throughout the lunch.

I can absolutely see why this restaurant made it onto the Michelin Guide. We are already looking forward to returning to Quebec City in the future to try their dinner service, which they are especially known for, as well as their sister restaurant Les Botanistes near the airport.

Un restaurant incontournable de la ville de Québec! La nourriture était phénoménale, particulièrement la soupe à l'oignon, le service était aussi très efficace. Mention honorable à Simon qui nous as très bien servi & conseiller!
