The table is set for Scalded the French bistro hippest part of Quebec. Chef Jean-François Girard presents an innovative and contemporary approach to cooking "Bistro" with a lunch menu varies each day and taking its source in the different seasonal products from the greater Quebec City area. Add to that a wine list with over 400 references carefully selected by our sommelier, Guillaume Blanchette, who will at the same time, advise you that unique bottle that will make you smile or the glass of wine that will marry perfectly with your meal . L'Échaudé is a neighborhood bistro atmosphere, a comfortable dining room or, alternatively, a terrace service on pedestrian street.

We were not able to order the wine that we wanted as it was not in stock.
We were incorrectly charged for 2 appetizers at $17 each. They were supposed to be included with our package from the Le Germain Hotel.

The tuna appetizer was good but needed a sauce. The beef tartare was very good, but my fries were a bit greasy. The sugar pie was good but not great. The service was excellent. I did get charged for a second coke when I asked for a refill—that doesn't happen in the U.S.

We had a spectacular lunch at L'Echaude! They have a lovely lunch menu & include an appetizer with the price of your main selection. Lovely wine offerings at lunch too!

Lechaude - is a decent restaurant with good food. We ordered the goat cheese & sun dried tomato appetizer & it was very tasty. We also ordered a GIN+Cranberry juice cocktail & it was not good. It was basically diluted Cranberry juice. The Veg entree was good, I had the fish of the day -Mahi Mahi. The dish was tasty & with a decent presentation however the fish was overcooked & dry. Overall dining experience was fair reason for 3 stars

My wife & I traveled to Quebec to celebrate our anniversary & we chose L'Echaudé for our celebration dinner. The ambience & food were excellent (we shared a charcuterie plate for appetizer & my wife had trout & I had beef tartare for our main courses). On that basis, I would give the restaurant 5 stars. We were a bit disappointed with the service: We ordered glasses of sparkling wine to begin & our waitress brought rosé instead. Even though I had alerted the restaurant that it was our 40th anniversary, there was no acknowledgement & our server didn't even ask if we were interested in dessert. Perhaps, this critique of service is a bit harsh, but I think it's reasonable for a restaurant that charges a premium for its food & wine.

Words don't adequately describe the supreme culinary experience that we enjoyed at L'Echaude last evening. The chefs & their staff created dishes that were so delicious, my friends, family & I were truly overwhelmed. We felt honoured to have had the opportunity to experience the creative talents of this fine team of experts. Each one of our appetizers, entrees & desserts will be remembered forever.

We enjoyed the ambiance & the goat cheese appetizer. We have had the most incredible service in QC; however, our experience at L'Echaude was disappointing. The service was mediocre & our main courses were not exceptional.

We enjoyed the most relaxing & delicious meal at L'Èchaudé. Being one of the few non pub style restaurants in the city open on a Tuesday we were pleased to snag a reservation. The menu had a great selection & we enjoyed our foie gras appetizer, ahi tuna & flank steak. Great service from of lovely server (Pierre ?) who brought wine pairing by the glass for each course. Would happily return, Merci !
