The best bistro cuisine! Fantastic food, inspired decor, a service fed by passion for the profession and a unique location - the antiques district, boutique hotels and art galleries. The table is set for Scalded the French bistro hippest part of Quebec. Chef Jean-François Girard presents an innovative and contemporary approach to cooking "Bistro" with a lunch menu varies each day and taking its source in the different seasonal products from the greater Quebec City area. Add to that a wine list with over 400 references carefully selected by our sommelier, Guillaume Blanchette, who will at the same time, advise you that unique bottle that will make you smile or the glass of wine that will marry perfectly with your meal . L'Échaudé is a neighborhood bistro atmosphere, a comfortable dining room or, alternatively, a terrace service on pedestrian street.

We had a wonderful evening Dinner was excellent- bison entree, lamb & Black Sea bass main, a nice Cote du Rhône wine. Service great & very welcoming, ambiance great. We would highly recommend L'Echaude & look forward to dining there again when we return to Quebec

What a wonderful experience! All the courses were inventive & incredibly tasty. Our servers were charming & efficient- they made sure that we were happy with everything. Highly recommend! This is no ordinary bistro restaurant!

What an amazing experience - their reputation for excellence is well-deserved. I tried getting in earlier than my 8pm reservation but no dice - they were absolutely full. Came back at my scheduled time & was immediately seated in a cozy corner. I ordered a cocktail called "Sour;" gin, cucumber, lime juice, & something else, & it was so delicious & refreshing. My oysters were delicious, & my bavette was fabulous. My server (who was taking care of eight tables that I could tell) was knowledgeable, professional, & very friendly, plus she acquiesced when I asked to speak French instead of English. So, so delicious! Highly recommended!

Innovative menu - French with a twist & a nod to traditional Quebecois specialities. Served with a delicious quebecois chardonnay - light & crisp. Attentive service performed by friendly & helpful staff, willing to offer explanations & recommendations. Lovely experience & highly recommended.
