The table is set for Scalded the French bistro hippest part of Quebec. Chef Jean-François Girard presents an innovative and contemporary approach to cooking "Bistro" with a lunch menu varies each day and taking its source in the different seasonal products from the greater Quebec City area. Add to that a wine list with over 400 references carefully selected by our sommelier, Guillaume Blanchette, who will at the same time, advise you that unique bottle that will make you smile or the glass of wine that will marry perfectly with your meal . L'Échaudé is a neighborhood bistro atmosphere, a comfortable dining room or, alternatively, a terrace service on pedestrian street.

We had a wonderful experience at L'Échaudé last week. We were seated promptly, the restaurant was vibrant but not loud or annoying, & the service was excellent. We had some dietary restrictions to deal with, but the staff was very accommodating & helpful in that respect, & we had no issues getting a delicious meal that met our needs. The food & wine selections were also excellent, & everything came out well prepared in a timely manner. I highly recommend this place & wouldn't hesitate to go back myself!

After a long afternoon exploring Lower town & Lévis, the staff made us feel welcome & comfortable. The sweetbreads & foie gras were superb. The Conchiglioni was a lovely mix of flavors & textures. The list of wines by the glass provided appropriate pairings. A happy end to a beautiful day.

My friend & I had a delicious meal, & what could have been a perfect evening. Unfortunately, our waiter clearly took a dislike to us for some unknown reason, truly he approached our table with an attitude. He was unwelcoming, unfriendly, arrogant. He tossed the wine list onto the table with no explanation- although an explanation might not normally have been needed, the iPad was not on the correct page, & he seemed annoyed with us when we told him. Our warm appetizer appeared (delivered by a very nice person) well before our glasses of wine. We chose not to let this ruin our meal, as I have said the food was excellent. But given a choice between this restaurant & another of equal quality, this experience would give me pause.

Our server was a little slow taking our wine order. He forgot to bring the bread we requested, & the wrong main course was brought to one of us. Normally service is excellent, & we will come again regardless.
