The food is excellent with authentic flavors, fresh ingredients, & generous portion of meat. The place is clean & nicely designed. The owner is very friendly; he even spent time playing games with the kid & gave her a little snack as reward. Very satisfied & highly recommend.
The spring rolls were absolutely delicious, & the pho was one of the best I've had in Quebec City. The broth was rich & flavorful, & the ingredients tasted fresh. The restaurant was spotless & had a comfortable atmosphere. I will definitely be back!

Absolutely amazing experience at Gao!** The food was incredibly delicious, fresh, & full of flavor. Every dish was prepared perfectly, & the quality exceeded my expectations. The staff were friendly, attentive, & made us feel very welcome.
Without a doubt, one of the best restaurants I have visited in Quebec. If you're looking for authentic, tasty food & excellent service, Gao is a must-visit. Highly recommended, & I will definitely come back again!
We passed by this place couple times but finally decided to go in for some Vietnamese food. The owner is extremely nice & welcoming. As fellow Vietnamese, I'm giving 5/5 stars. The pho broth was flavorful & they use fresh rice noodle. The Vietnamese ice coffee is 💯. Really hit the spot. If I stayed longer, would have come back second time.
Overall, the experience was okay - a fairly average pho place.
Both the pho & the fresh rolls were decent but nothing particularly memorable.
Service was also average, acceptable but not especially attentive.
It's a reasonable option if you're nearby & looking for a simple Vietnamese meal, but probably not a place I'd go out of my way to visit.

Simple environment. The food was very good. Prices were just as good! A little fusion but still retain much Vietnamese authenticity. Generous portion. Very fresh ingredients! Quick fill up place for good value!
My sister & I just arrived in Quebec City for the first time today! After taking the VIA Rail & dropping our suitcases off at our Airbnb, we were on the hunt for a good lunch spot around 1pm & we stumbled upon Gao. What a gem!
We both ordered the shrimp bun cha gio, & honestly, it was one of the best I've had (& I live in Halifax, NS!). Everything was so fresh & flavorful, beautifully presented, & the portion was just right. The prices were very reasonable for the quality, & the service was friendly & attentive without being overbearing.
The ambience was also lovely modern yet cozy, with a relaxed vibe that made us feel instantly comfortable after a long travel morning.
Highly recommend this spot whether you're visiting or local. We left happy, full, & already talking about coming back before our trip ends!
