Très belle première expérience ce soir pour notre anniversaire de mariage. Nous avons pris (à partager) un plateau de fruits de mer, le poisson frit entier & la pavlova aux fraises, & tout était délicieux ! Les fruits de mer & la daurade étaient d'une fraîcheur incroyable & les cuissons étaient très bien maîtrisées. Nous avons complété notre repas par deux cocktails & u verre de vin, & terminé par du Barsol, un vin d'apéritif péruvien d'une douceur exquise, offert par la maison pour célébrer avec nous. Merci encore pour cette belle soirée !

Recommended by an acquaintance, & seconded by a bartender in a more touristy part of the city, this speakeasy offered us an adventurous experience. Almost invisible from the outside, J. Jacques invited us to pass through a black curtain & - voilà! - took us to another place. It had perhaps the best drink menu I've ever seen, with a range of classics on the left & new concoctions on the right of every page. The tower of seafood was fun, but the drinks are clearly the highlight, from a very talented bartender. A strange fellow customer, a shoeless & almost shirtless local yokel, provided unintentional entertainment with his drunken singing (had he perhaps performed at the folk night at the FEQ the night before?). The wait staff was very attentive & kind, & offered excellent recommendations in perfect English when our French faltered (which was very quickly!). This is one of my favorite, most unforgettable restaurant experiences ever. Highly recommended!

What a hidden gem. We almost weren't sure if we were at the right entrance until we were led through the velvet drape to the bar area. We came here for cocktails only but already bookmarked it for dinner when we return to QC in the future. Our server was really friendly, providing recommendations & personally guiding us through the cocktail menu. Our cocktails were so complex in taste that we have truly found a true speakeasy in Quebec.

Not often you come across a'speakeasy' oyster bar & this one is a gem. Amazing cocktails & seafood tower. Highly recommend.

Bar caché avec bon cocktails & service ultra sympa & efficace.
Mais le gros plus : super bouffe.
Huîtres, Fromage & pâte très bonnes. Garder de la place pour les super desserts aussi. Bref que du bon.

Took my fiancée to JJacques for her birthday weekend in Quebec City, & it was fantastic! The whole experience is pretty cool, starting with buzzing at a discrete grey door to get in - kind of felt like a speakeasy. Inside, it's got a great, bustling atmosphere.

We sat at the bar, which was awesome because we got to see all the food, especially those impressive seafood towers, being prepped. We had some of their specialty cocktails - super tasty. Then we went for the triple seafood tower, & man, it was all incredible! Taylor loved the mussels & the lobster with garlic butter. I was all about the scallops & sea bream.

Seriously, JJacques was a highlight. Great food, cool unique spot, & a really fun night. Definitely recommend it if you're in Quebec City!

What a memorable night. Our waiter Nicolas was a superstar. Engaging, informative, friendly & the entire team was seamless with their service. The mixologist was A-mazing. Best cocktails we've had in a while. Tokyo Drift, El Diablo & Snowbird were our favourites. The warm oysters & cod fritters for starters were delicious, followed by entrees of Risotto & Scallops, & whole fish fry - done to perfection. Topped off the evening with a Lemon tarlette. Everything was beautifully plated/presented. The bar & banquette area were bustling with conversation & music whereas the high tables in the back are quieter for more intimate conversation. Great experience & we'll definitely go again.
