This is a great dinner place for food & drinks. We had the seafood platter, asparagus, carrots & scallop risotto which were all excellent. For dessert the cream puff was our favourite. We went on a Monday night & it was almost full. Service is good & they speak English which was a plus. Would recommend when visiting Quebec City!
Took my fiancée to JJacques for her birthday weekend in Quebec City, & it was fantastic! The whole experience is pretty cool, starting with buzzing at a discrete grey door to get in - kind of felt like a speakeasy. Inside, it's got a great, bustling atmosphere.
We sat at the bar, which was awesome because we got to see all the food, especially those impressive seafood towers, being prepped. We had some of their specialty cocktails - super tasty. Then we went for the triple seafood tower, & man, it was all incredible! Taylor loved the mussels & the lobster with garlic butter. I was all about the scallops & sea bream.
Seriously, JJacques was a highlight. Great food, cool unique spot, & a really fun night. Definitely recommend it if you're in Quebec City!

Bel accueil, design unique avec entre- portes voutées. Beau cachet. Toutefois, j'ai trouvé la table haute inconfortable & beaucoup trop petite ; surtout pour un repas sensé duré 2-3h. La musique d'ambiance était ok.
Pour ce qui est du repas, nous avons pris le caviar baeri avec le plateau de fruits de mer 3 étage! Pour le caviar, évidemment il a accompagné à merveille les bouchées & quelques fruits de mer du plateau.
Par contre, j'ai été extrêmement déçue par la température du plateau ; comme s'il avait été mis trop longtemps sur la glace, les produits & plats étaient pour la plupart congelés & même séchés par la glace (surtout ceux au centre).
Aussi, nous avons dû retourné les crevettes d'argentines car elles étaient pâteuses & leur fraicheur était plus que suspectes. Par respect pour l'établissement je ne les ai pas retourné une 2e fois…. Mais sachez que nous sommes habitués de manger des fruits & vous nous avez fait sentir comme si nous étions dans le tord puisque vous nous avez ramené de la cuisine les dites crevettes! Selon la chef, elles étaient « adéquates ».
Heureusement, j'ai discuté avec d'autres connaissances qui m'ont suggéré de donner une seconde chance & d'essayer les autres plats…. J'aurais quand même aimé que mon opinion soit mieux pris en compte au moment même des faits!
Really cool spot in Québec City. Perfect place to grab some great drinks in a chill speakeasy vibe. It's cozy, the decor is beautiful, & the cocktails are creative & super tasty. I had oysters too - they were excellent. Just a solid vibe all around. Highly recommend.
We were there during the week, & the atmosphere, the service, & the food were all top-notch. The suggestions made by the waiter were right on. I had the fish, & the presentation was superb, as well as very fresh & delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant, & would go back again, & again.
Expérience absolument incroyable au resto-bar Jjacques jeudi dernier lors d'une escapade avec mon copain! La présentation & la saveur des plats étaient sublimes & le service, plus qu'impeccable! We had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. The vibe was fantastic,relaxed, stylish, & perfect for a night out with friends
. The chefs & bartender clearly know their craft; every dish was not only beautifully presented but also full of flavor & creativity. I ordered the fish, & it was incredibly fresh,easily one of the best I've had recently.
What made the experience even better was the service. The manager & servers were all warm, friendly, & attentive without being intrusive. They gave us excellent recommendations, & every dish they suggested turned out to be impressive. The atmosphere was chill yet refined, making it a great spot for both casual hangouts & special occasions.
Highly recommended,& I'll definitely be coming back!
