The snack menu we tried were a bit bland & could have some more spice level to complement the Indian-inspired base of the menu.
You may find it costly. Food quality is good but quantity are less. Don't bring your kids. If you are Indian, note this is no normal restaurant, so be prepared for surprises. I would say avoid if you are Indians.
Service & ambience were good, but if you're looking for truly authentic Indian food-or even a decent fusion take-this restaurant isn't a good choice. We tried their version of palak paneer, & it was very disappointing. If you're expecting the authentic taste, I would strongly suggest avoiding it. We also tried their lassi but it had soda in it which was again disappointing. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place to an Indian audience.
Google lists this place as an Indian restaurant, & while the menu is Indian-inspired, it is clearly more of a fusion concept rather than authentic Indian cuisine. The waitress did inform us upfront that the food is fusion, which we appreciated.
We didn't have a reservation but were able to get a table for four without much difficulty. The place seems quite popular with locals & feels more like a pub-style restaurant with an Indian twist. The ambience is lovely, with plenty of plants & a warm atmosphere. The service was excellent - attentive & friendly throughout our visit. The only small suggestion would be to keep the music slightly more mellow to enhance the dining experience.
As for the food, we ordered chapathis, dhal, channa curry, & tandoori cauliflower. The chapathis were quite small & not properly baked. The dhal was sweeter than expected, while the channa curry was decent. The tandoori cauliflower was disappointing - it felt more steamed & al dente rather than properly tandoor-roasted, with minimal spices. It did have an interesting combination of blueberries with mint & jeera/ajwain, which was unique, but overall lacked depth of flavor.
The prices are on the higher side for what is offered. The portions are really very small for the price, which was disappointing. Street parking is available but can be difficult to find.
The service was very quick & the staff were friendly.
Overall, it's a good spot for those looking for a fusion-style, low-spice Indian experience in a pleasant pub-like setting, but definitely not ideal if you're expecting authentic Indian flavors & spicy food..
Eloise was awesome! My party of 5 had such a fun time at Kundah! We had the tasting menu & Eloise was able to give us great suggestions despite dealing with several different dietary preferences & allergies.
The food was delicious, the butter duck & dahl were favorites of our party.
Highly recommend this place if you are looking for excellent Indian food in Quebec City.
The atmosphere, the service & the cocktails were great. It's an earthy vibe with natural money tree plants & tan wood furniture. The staff is very friendly & prompt & the cocktails were tasty. Other than that, the food was mediocre. It seems very popular & highly rated with a Michelin mention so had higher expectations & was definitely underwhelmed.
The shrimp ceviche was chewy & the bhel was stale, the lamb korma was tangy? the meat was tender but It was so tangy that I was very confused, the side of rice was either undercooked or stale cause It was crunchy. The mushroom pakora & chicken momos were good. Nothing fancy
If you've had really good Indian fusion food from the US: NY, PA, DE, MD, NJ; London areas; I think you'd feel the same underwhelm. Their reservations are also mostly sold out. Honestly felt like we could have just tried a local spot instead of coming back on a day they had reservations available for last seating. Just my personal taste & preference! Deff try It out cause maybe we went on a bad day
The rice was slightly undercooked, which made it difficult to eat. The trout had a strong fishy taste & did not seem very fresh. While the concept of fusion is interesting, the food overall was average, & we've had better Indian fusion elsewhere. The drinks were also fairly standard.
Staff is friendly!
We went with the blind menu & we're in love with the indian fusion food. Filling for 2 & a child, we rolled back home. ☺?
We were celebrating a special occasion & the team was very friendly & kind.
We just tried the tasting Menu & loved it. Always love to come back to this restaurant for their Indian food with twist. Hats-off to whoever thought of something extraordinary… & the chefs who recreated those with absolute perfection.
We really love Indian food so the idea of fusion option seemed appealing. We were visiting Quebec City & saw the restaurant received some good reviews so we were excited to dine here. Unfortunately, our party of 4 left deeply disappointed due to service issues & food not being all that great. This was for a very special birthday (which I noted in our online reservation notes ) so I felt extra disappointed. .
It's possible a language barrier was part of our issue but it was hard to order & we tried to ask questions about the dishes but didn't get much information. We also found it odd there was no drink menu at all. In general our waitress was unfriendly & very inattentive.
We finally ordered a few snacks & main dishes & they all came to the table at once - except one person in our party didn't get their dish at all. We waited another 15 mins for it to arrive. We asked about the status of the dish with our waitress & she didn't seem to care at all. I ordered the tandoori cauliflower & it wasn't fully cooked as well as the eggplant dish which came with rice crackers but it wasn't clear how they both went together. The papadum we ordered was actually quite spicy but the menu doesn't indicate it would be I like spice but it was too much for me.
I had high hopes for this restaurant because of the positive review- but my experience left much to be desired, both in terms of service & the food we finally got. Perhaps the tasting menu would be the way to go but ordering Individual dishes wasn't great.
I would not recommend this restaurant - it was one of the most disappointing meals & service I've had in the last few years. It was for a birthday which made it that much more disappointing for us.
