I had a horrible experience in this restaurant. You see, my friend (also male) & I arrived 18 minutes earlier than our reservation time. When we got there, there were exactly four empty tables, not to mention at least four or five spots by the bar. In spite of that, we were asked to leave because they supposedly had no available spots to seat us. That would have been alright if those exact same four tables hadn't still been empty when we returned at our reservation time. I decided to let it go & not let it ruin my night. But then the waiter proceeded to seat a couple (male & female) who came in right before us at one of those empty tables (a table meant for four people, while they were only two), & he asked us (also two people) to sit side by side at the bar, even though there were still three empty tables. He didn't even ask if we preferred a table.
I was made to understand that this was because we were two guys, & the other people were a'couple' (male & female), so they supposedly couldn't sit at the bar. Personally, I find that discriminatory. Then they seated another couple who arrived after us at another table for four. At that point, I politely asked to be seated at a normal table. The waiter made us wait at least 10 minutes before eventually moving us.
The cherry on top of this horrible dining experience was the waiter stopping me on my way out, having the audacity to ask why I didn't leave a tip & practically demanding that I do. When I explained my reasons, he just nodded & said'oh okay,' without even apologizing.
The fact that I was there with one of my male friends does not mean I should be treated any differently, & it certainly does not mean that any man-woman couple is more important than us & deserves a table instead of us when we arrived first & had a reservation like anyone else.
I will admit that the Asian waiter was particularly nice compared to the first one who spoke to us. As for the food, it wasn't great but it wasn't bad either ... it was just okay, with a menu where you pick items to build your plate.
Overall, a horrible experience. I will not be coming back, & I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Nous avons commander en ligne pour manger chez des amis. Les plats étaient succulent & sentaient incroyablement bons. Le palak perron, un bonheur en bouche, ce fut un coup de coeur ainsi que le canard au beurre. Légèrement déçu du Dal Tadka, il était très liquide & manquait un peu de saveur à nos goûts mais, tout de même agréable à manger. Les joues de porc vindaloo, miam! J'ai déjà hâte de manger à nouveau vos plats. Merci!
We went with the blind menu & we're in love with the indian fusion food. Filling for 2 & a child, we rolled back home. ☺?
