A Flawed Dining Experience: Style Over Substance
Rated: ⭐⭐ / 5
Kundah presents an ambitious concept, but the reality is a disjointed dining experience. Gatekeeping tables seems to be part of the front-of-house strategy; we were told the dining room was fully booked, only to be seated next to a sea of empty tables that never filled up.
The kitchen's approach to progressive Indian cuisine unfortunately results in a flawed fusion. The menu highlights were missteps: a poorly executed Vada Pav remix, an onion bhaji devoid of its namesake ingredient & containing just fried rice balls. Furthermore, the beverage execution lacked authenticity. Labeling a westernized chai latte as a'Masala Chai'-without a hint of real masala-feels lazy rather than innovative. While the venue aims for a high-end, Michelin-esque status, the lackluster flavors & puzzling hospitality prove they have a long way to go.
You may find it costly. Food quality is good but quantity are less. Don't bring your kids. If you are Indian, note this is no normal restaurant, so be prepared for surprises. I would say avoid if you are Indians.
Truly stands out to the concept of fusion & serves Indian dishes with a unique flavour & twist. The snack menu we tried were a bit bland & could have some more spice level to complement the Indian-inspired base of the menu.
Shameful for a restaurant to be having such operating procedures. Says opens at 5 PM. We drove all the way for over an hour. & non one picks the phone no one is at the restaurant. Such a shame.
Incredible experience! The food, the service, & the atmosphere was just amazing!
I definitely will be returning back to this restaurant & would highly recommend everyone give it a try! We got the tasting menu which was worth every penny!
