We loved this bakery so much that we came back two mornings in a row! The croissants & pain au chocolat were excellent-fresh, flaky, & delicious. The coffee was great too. We'll definitely be back the next time we're visiting Québec City
Le service des boissons chaudes ou froides est catastrophiques. Il faudrait penser à reformer vos employés sur cette partie de magasin.
Deux jours de suite ils se sont trompés dans ma commande (reçu après plus de 10 minutes pour un espresso, un iced latte & un chocolat chaud...). Après ce renvoi (+5min...) l'espresso était froid nous avons encore dû renvoyer la commande. La responsable d'équipe a dû prendre notre commande en charge car son equipe est incappable.
Donc si vous mangez ici, pas de soucis sur le service des sandwichs mais arrêtez-vous là.
Une très belle place, spacieux & lumineux avec plusieurs types d'assises (fauteuils avec tables basses, banquettes, tables hautes avec tabourets), espace jeu pour enfants, terrasse sur section de rue piétonnière donc pas de passage de voiture :) très beau cadre
Les viennoiseries étaient excellentes (brioche au chocolat, pain bleuet chocolat & tourbillon érable & noix, pas trop sucré ce dernier & généreux en noix!)
Le chocolat chaud manque un peu de chocolat a mon goût mais c'est le seul petit bémol :)
Pour la pizza, viennoiseries etc, tout est bien. Malheureusement leur café filtre est infecte & rance. Je crois qu'ils ne savent pas quel grain de café utilisé ou ils veulent faire des économies. Pour un café filtre, on doit utiliser une torréfaction blonde: Idéale pour les connaisseurs. Elle offre des arômes vifs, floraux & fruités avec une acidité marquée.
Torréfaction moyenne : Le meilleur compromis. Elle équilibre l'acidité naturelle du grain avec des notes de caramel ou de chocolat. Éviter à tout prix une torréfaction foncée. Je n'ai pas goûté leur latte, mais je doute que s'ils utilisent la mauvaise torréfaction pour le filtre, ça doit être la même chose pour ce dernier & je soupçonne, comme à bien des endroits, ils doivent chauffer trop leur lait. Aux prix que l'on paie le café, la Boîte à Pain & leur personnel devraient être un peu plus rigoureux en ce qui a trait à la préparation de leur café.
Les meilleures viennoiseries que j'ai mangées jusqu'alors au Québec ! Les traditionnels croissants & chocolatines, sans oublier les baguettes au levain, sont à tomber ! Un lieu convivial, un personnel agréable & des produits excellents !
So glad to have stopped here for some tasty pastries! Highly recommend the pain chocolat & chocolate cookie was decent too for a reasonable price. Bonus that they offer tap water as well. Great service staff too & would highly recommend!
The best croissants of my life. Unfortunately, we were only in Québec for three nights. However, I had a culinary highlight every morning. The Amandine (Almond) & Amandine au Chocolat (Almond with chocolate) tasted fantastic. Prepared fresh every morning. The puff pastry was pleasantly soft & slightly buttery, combined with an exceptionally tasty but not too sweet almond cream filling. Depending on your choice, there was also a delicious dark chocolate note. I would have liked to try more, but I didn't want the scales to explode. They are small calorie bombs after all. But I would have loved to try every pastry here. Combined with the very tasty & not too hot coffee (cappuccino), it was the perfect start to the day. The price for a croissant (5.95$) is just about right, but shouldn't be any higher.
