There's a reason the reviews of this place are so incredible! We were a group of 4 & tried every dish on the menu (some more than once!). The service was incredible - we appreciated the wine recommendations too. If you're looking for a true taste of Charlevoix, this is your place.

There's plenty of selection to be had in Baie St Paul, but our go-to spot for small sharing plates is this place! It's always an innovative menu & priced so you can practically order at least one of everything. & this place knows their wine & make great mocktails. Luckily they accept reservations now, so there's no more showing up & waiting an hour for a party to leave.

I thought the food was pretty good. The location & atmosphere super cool & the wine selection was great. I loved that the waiter said - "I'm the wine list". As long as you tell them what you like they bring a few options for you to try. My favorite was the fresh pasta with pork belly & mushrooms. We ordered a veal, CEP dish that came as small meatballs. It had pate mixed in & I found the meat very tender but a bit gamey. Otherwise god meal

Si vous êtes de passage à Charlevoix & que vous avez envie d'essayer un restaurant à la hauteur des meilleurs restos de Montréal (& mieux encore), je vous conseille fortement ce petit bijou. La nourriture est incroyable & le wine pairing est simplement parfait. De plus, le service est 10/10. Il n'y a aucune chance que vous n'aimiez pas. Assurez-vous de faire votre réservation en avance par contre, car c'est assez achalandé. Je vous conseille de réserver au deuxième service pour prendre le temps de bien siroter votre dernier verre & discuter avec le staff. Bon appétit!

If you can get in go. Rate mix of amazing food experience, awesome staff & cool vibe without losing itself in being pretentious or hipster. Trust the staff, accept that they will have the perfect wine for every course & enjoy!

Second time there after a visit this summer with my wife. We thought it was spectacular then, I think that word underestimated the food & experience I enjoyed again. Sabrina was so welcoming & was on my solo visit. Maxime jumped in right away & made me so welcome with great taste from the bar, Needles to say, the 3 dishes they prepared for me along with the suggested wines really made it a great experience. The local seasonal ingredients including wild hand-picked mushrooms, & rhubarb confit with the fois gras amongst others was a culinary, embarrassingly to say..., a "Big - O"

Dinner at La Buvette Gentille is a wonderful experience--creative locally sourced food, super caring & informed staffed & a terrific wine pairing program. There are only two seating so book ahead & order a lot. You can even sit at the counter & watch them do their magic!

Our favorite dish of the evening was the arctic char with bok choy over a savory lemon curd--one of the best dishes we have tasted all year. Another favorite was mushrooms ( lions mane & others) over a bed of pureed roasted eggplant & miso. Also worth mentioning is their foes gras made from geese that were not force fed. Super creamy & rich, just like in the Dordogne.

We really appreciated their approach to wine pairing, which is based on the dishes you select. You get to taste it selection to see if you like it. If it is not to your liking, they will bring you another to try. Really flexible, compared to most wine pairings we have done.
