Back in the day, when Savoyard shepherds wanted to warm up, they poured a little coffee and a lot of alcohol into a wooden shoe, hence the name “grolle”. Later, these shepherds made wooden containers that included several holes specifically designed for this recipe. There are now several sizes of grolles depending on the number of guests (from 2 holes to 8 holes). The grolle, also known as the “cup of friendship”, usually gets passed from hand to hand and should not come back on the table until it is finished.

This was absolutely fantastic. We had the Quebec cheese fondue for 2, Bacchus surf & turf, & raclette between 3 people & it was perfect. Definitely make time for this on your visit!

Trio de fondue, portion au fromage très petite pour l'entrée de fondue au fromage & trop peu de sauce pour accompagner la viande à fondue. Bonne patate grelot & très bon désert.

Been here multiple times & it is lovely each time. This is the place to stop & eat a lovely supper with your date/GF/Wife... Watch out, 1 cheese fondue is suffice for 4 people if you are having other items.

La fondue au fromage « La Grolla pure & simple » était très bonne au goût.
Ce n'est qu'en Suisse qu'on compte 200 g de fromage à fondue par personne. Ici, on nous en a servi environ 250 à 300 g pour deux personnes. Cela ne nous a pas suffi pour être rassasiés.
Selon le menu, la « planchette valaisanne » était censée contenir de la saucisse & du fromage. Il n'y avait pas de fromage sur la planchette.
Au moment de payer, il n'était pas possible de choisir le pourboire. Celui-ci avait déjà été sélectionné par le serveur/propriétaire. C'est inacceptable!
De plus, le propriétaire actuel n'a aucun lien avec la Suisse & n'y est probablement jamais allé.
Une seule visite suffit. Nous ne remettrons plus les pieds dans ce restaurant.

Tout était très excellent ! Une belle sortie de couple pour célébrer nos 5 ans & l'achat de notre maison. Nous avons essayé la triplette de fondues (fromage, bourguignone & chocolat) & nous n'avons pas été déçus. Belle table sur le bord de la fenêtre & des napperons qui font découvrir les fromages de Suisse. Un petit verre de Frangelico sur glace comme digestif pour bien terminer la soirée.
Je recommande sans hésiter & il nous fera plaisir d'y retourner pour essayer d'autres fondues offertes à ce restaurant !
