About

Back in the day, when Savoyard shepherds wanted to warm up, they poured a little coffee and a lot of alcohol into a wooden shoe, hence the name “grolle”. Later, these shepherds made wooden containers that included several holes specifically designed for this recipe. There are now several sizes of grolles depending on the number of guests (from 2 holes to 8 holes). The grolle, also known as the “cup of friendship”, usually gets passed from hand to hand and should not come back on the table until it is finished.

It was a lovely spot with great service but we partly booked it because there was a fireplace, which turned out to be a lit log in an old fireplace & the Bacchus fondue was way too salty but the cheese fondue was good.

Merci à tout l'équipe pour la qualité du service & de l'accueil. Nous avons pu avoir une table sans réservation & le service était excellent. L'ambiance du restautrant était plus que festive avec la fête d'amis de la table à coté. Cela a ajouté grandement à l'expérience. & que dire de la qualité des plats, le service de fondue au fromage était un vrai délice. Pour ce qui est de la fondue chinoise avec pétoncle, saumon & crevettes. C'est de loin la meilleure fondue que j'ai mangé.

Comme on avait réservé pour le 2ieme service on a du attendre un peu & on nous offert le premier drink pour compenser, tout était vraiment excellent.... mais la fondue au fromage exceptionnel.....

Un incontournable quand on vient a Québec City. En temps que français vivant dans la partie anglophone, c'est plus qu'un plaisir & c'est excellent !
If you never had a cheese fondue or Raclette or meat fondue "bourguignonne" you have to go & try. Your taste buds will thank you!

Such a great restaurant! It truly feels like you enter another world when you enter. Super cute & quaint, food is absolutely delicious, staff is very nice & knowledge. The Fondue trio is the way to go to try all they have to offer.
