We went as a family of 4 to La Grolla to dine their fondue & raclette. Needless to say it was amazing! The food was incredible & we loved that the portions were pretty generous. Not only was the food extremely delicious but also the cozy & intimate ambience refined the expierence. Finally, the service was excellent & the servers were really kind. I highly recommend this place to anyone who will be staying in Québec!!

Nous sommes allés manger au restaurant La Grolla avec mon conjoint & nous avons été extrêmement déçus.
Nous avons commandé une fondue au fromage : je n'ai jamais vu une fondue avec aussi peu de fromage dans le caquelon. Il n'y en avait même pas assez pour une seule personne.
Nous sommes pourtant de vrais connaisseurs & avons déjà mangé des fondues dans plusieurs restaurants, mais celle-ci est de loin la pire que nous ayons mangée. Après à peine quatre morceaux de pain chacun, il n'y avait déjà plus de fromage.
Nous avons signalé le problème à un serveur, qui nous a lui-même confirmé que beaucoup de clients se plaignaient de la quantité insuffisante de fromage & qu'il était d'accord avec nous.
& pour couronner le tout, nous avons payé 95 $ pour deux personnes, soit huit morceaux de pain avec un fond de fromage. C'est tout simplement une honte.
Malgré notre remarque & l'accord du serveur, aucune ristourne, aucun geste commercial ne nous a été accordé au moment de l'addition.
Une expérience décevante du début à la fin. Honteux jusqu'au bout.

Absolutely amazing experience. Its a cozy & cute restaurant. We had the raclette with charcuterie & cheese fondue. The server was helpful & patient as this was my first experience of this type. The dishes were delicious & it was a fabulous experience. Perfect having a nice bottle of wine with this dining experience. It's a must do experience here.

Par où commencer… En fait, je vais commencer par la conclusion : soirée parfaite.
Nous y sommes allés en amoureux pour un bon souper du temps des fêtes, & tout était absolument magnifique. Une délicieuse fondue au fromage accompagnée d'une excellente bouteille de vin, dans une ambiance chaleureuse & romantique.

Le service était tout simplement exceptionnel : attentionné, professionnel & sincèrement accueillant. Chaque détail était soigné, ce qui a rendu notre expérience mémorable.

Une chose est certaine : nous y retournerons sans hésiter. Une adresse incontournable dans le Vieux-Québec!

Le restaurant est charmant & intime. La nourriture est savoureuse. Les portions de viande pour la fondue chinoise ainsi que les accompagnements sont généreuses. Notre service de la part d'Ariane était impeccable . C'est une adresse que je conserverai pour mes prochaines escapades à Québec !

UPDATE: photos from our last visit

Fondue dinner is our annual anniversary tradition …. & what better place to check out than a fondue restaurant right in the heart of Quebec City !

The restaurant is quaint; the decor is very cute & the staff are so friendly.

We started off with the french onion soup - a soup which I had never had before. It made me wonder why I took this many years to try it ! Fantastic !

We then made our way to the second course of cheese fondue. We chose the Quebec cheeses & we were glad we did. Amazing ! Of course the best part is at the end;'la religieuse' it's the salty goodness of the cheese that has crisped up at the bottom of the pot.

The main course was fondue bourginone (pretty sure I spelled that wrong!) which was very different than the fondue chinoise we are accustomed to. This particular fondue is cooked in oil & paired with tenderloin. Their dipping sauces are homemade. We were so very pleased with the bourginone option !

Lastly was dessert; chocolate fondue with a variety of fruits & marshmallows. You can't go wrong with dipping anything in chocolate but it was not'out of this world' or anything - but - a great way to end the meal.

If you're in Quebec City definitely go check this place out ! Unlike most fondue restaurants you will not end up smelling like the place upon leaving !

A very cozy spot for friends & family. I got a fondue chinoise with an extra side of prawns, the broth was good with a strong aroma. Beef & prawns were so so.
