Back in the day, when Savoyard shepherds wanted to warm up, they poured a little coffee and a lot of alcohol into a wooden shoe, hence the name “grolle”. Later, these shepherds made wooden containers that included several holes specifically designed for this recipe. There are now several sizes of grolles depending on the number of guests (from 2 holes to 8 holes). The grolle, also known as the “cup of friendship”, usually gets passed from hand to hand and should not come back on the table until it is finished.

Such a great experience we went back 2 nights later for more. Highly recommend the Swiss fondue (top 3 we have ever had) & pair with the Alsatian Riesling , servers were very friendly. It’s a small place that gets busy so don’t be in a rush & enjoy the cheese. Recommend making a reservation.

Nous étions 8 pour mon anniversaire, ce fut une soirée mémorable. La nourriture était excellente mais c’est le service qui a été remarquable. Le serveur était hilarant, on s’est amusé avec lui toute la soirée. Je recommande !

Was recommended by our hotel as a birthday treat.
Our server was really helpful explaining the fondue experience.
We had pats & soup to start - both tasty & generous potions.
We then had beef tenderloin traditional fondue. It was very good quality but I was glad to pad it out with the delicious little potatoes
Followed up with the chocolate fondue which again was tasty & plentiful
A nice experience at a reasonable price
Worth a visit for something different. Merci !!

We were visiting Quebec on the home our drive East & decided to try out some fondue. Absolutely adored this restaurant experience. Food was delicious, the ambiance is beautiful & our server was wonderful. Highly recommend!

E-X-C-E-L-L-E-N-T service d'Olivier & "Doris". Très bonne bouffe. Le personnel est aux petits soins. Nous avons passé un merveilleux moment. Je recommande ce resto x1000. 🥰
