About

Le Casse-Crêpe Breton specializes in the preparation of traditional French crêpes, offering an extensive selection of savory galettes made with buckwheat flour and sweet crêpes featuring diverse fruit and chocolate fillings. The menu emphasizes consistent preparation techniques, ensuring each crêpe maintains a thin, delicate texture paired with fresh, high-quality ingredients sourced for classic flavor profiles. Patrons observe the production process from an open station where batter is spread onto heated griddles with practiced precision. The establishment maintains a functional, casual atmosphere suitable for straightforward, focused dining centered on its core griddle-based offerings. Beyond the signature crêpes, the kitchen provides hearty sandwiches constructed with artisanal bread and select deli meats. Review Summary

Le Casse-Crêpe Breton offers a popular dining experience in Old Quebec City, widely praised for its extensive menu of both savory and sweet crepes that are often described as delicious, fresh, and perfectly portioned. Many visitors enjoy the cozy, classic atmosphere and the entertaining open kitchen where they can watch their food being prepared. While the staff is frequently highlighted as friendly, kind, and efficient, some guests have reported inconsistent service, including long wait times, occasional order mix-ups, or a hurried feeling during peak hours. Opinions on the buckwheat crepes are notably mixed, with some diners finding them authentic and enjoyable, while others feel the texture and flavor are lacking compared to traditional expectations. Despite some critiques regarding specific sides or seasoning, the restaurant remains a frequent go-to for many, especially for those seeking a charming, reasonably priced breakfast or brunch in a beautiful, historic setting.

Quite mid tbh. Went here for breakfast on a Monday morning around 9. Perhaps because it's located on a touristy street, the atmosphere here was more modernish than i expected, playing pop songs in the background.

I like how they let you byo crepe so that you can have all the ingredients you like. I got a buckwheat crepe with spinach, mushrooms, bell peppers, asparagus, raiser beef, & pesto sauce. The portion was okay, though I expected it to be more filling than it had.

The taste of the buckwheat crepe was mid, not giving out a lot of flavor, & its texture was more rough than another one I had in another crepe restaurant (which I liked better). The veggies fillings were just fine, nothing special, & the roast beef also lack in flavor & seasoning, making the entirety of the dish tasted kinda dry & bland.

Overall just a OK restaurant, nothing outstanding. Personally wouldn't return.

I'd say if you're really looking for a NICE & DECENT crepe restaurant, try other places (e.g. Le Billig) that's more authentic!

Delicious stop! We split a savory crepe & a sweet crepe. Both were great. The savory was Choix #7 (Bacon, fresh spinach, tomatoes goat cheese, basil pesto). Sweet was strawberries & bananas with a maple syrup drizzle. Both with flour. I wish we had tried the buckwheat out of curiosity. Chai latte was also good -lots of cinnamon, a little less cream/milk than I am used to but had a good flavor.

Locale bretone sia nello stile che nel cibo, tutto davvero ottimo, dalle crepes simil-galette all'ottimo sidro. Servizio cortese e veloce. Lo consiglio assolutamente.

Lovely little crêpe spot, perfect for breakfast. We ordered two savory crêpes & one chocolate-banana-strawberry with whipped cream-very satisfying for someone with a sweet tooth. Overall, the food exceeded my expectations, & the staff were friendly. A great way to start the day in Quebec City.

Le Casse-Crêpe Breton has been a staple any time I have visited Québec City. The servers are always working hard & quickly to make sure everything is running as efficiently as possible. We were told there was going to be a 15 minute wait, but were seated within 5. We got two of the sweet crepes, & they were absolutely delicious. Definitely worth the visit if you are in the area & want great, high quality crepes.
