Wow! Incredible service from start to finish. Best restaurant during my one week in Québec! The name of our server is escaping me but she was amazing, thank you for the fabulous recommendations on the menu & Baie St. Paul & for assisting us in English w the menu! Must try the elder cocktail, the ipa selection, & the market fish & creme brulee! Wish I had another night to come back for the oysters, guinea fowl, & pasta dish! Highly recommend this gem & sad I missed the scallops!
In search for the best French restaurant in Quebec, we ended with up @leclocherpenche. Exceptional was an understatement. Menu was simple, prices were reasonable & dishes were executed carefully. Service was topnotch by Livia. I would definitely recommend & come back for the scallops, the fish of the day in Romesco sauce & their homemade butter. Parking was limited due to an ongoing construction. ❤️🇨🇦👌

Beautiful little gem where locals seem to go to often... the place was full on a Tuesday evening. Excellent & refined menu for all that love fresh fish & delicate sauces. Friendly service, great ambiance.
Delicious food in a nice atmosphere. The service took a little while, but once the server came & helped us, he was excellent. The desserts-we had the creme brûlée & the brownie-were good but not at the same caliber as the food. The mushroom steak, fish of the day, & pasta dish were all excellent. Cocktails were also outstanding.
Lovely dinner at Clocher Penché- atmosphere is lovely, quaint & modern bistro feel. Great oysters & lovely fish entrée. Staff were friendly & attentive. Food was really fresh & tasty- only downside are the chairs of the low top tables are not very comfortable ! Otherwise, the experience was very positive.
We had a great experience. Small menu, with 5 or 6 appetizer, 5 mains & 3 desserts. Loved the way the waitress explained the menu. Interesting food, like the butternut squash dish with duck ham & egg, the crispy pork belly with shrimp & kale salad, or the fish special ( Atlantic cod with swiss chard, cauliflower & radicchio, flawlessly executed. Thanks to The whole time for a great evening ❤️❤️
The service here is excellent & never have I ever felt the need to ask for something. They even offered to call us a taxi back to our hotel at the end of the night as they correctly assumed that we were from out of town! Since I needed to drive & my partner doesn't drink alchohol, we order two incredible mocktails that were a great complement to our meal. So here we are with the in-depth food review. Portion sizes were very good as they were large enough that we were able to order a starter, entre, & share a dessert at the end. Being from Rhode Island (AKA the Ocean State), I could not resist the temptation of the Fish of the day (Icelandic Cod). Very flavorful & surprisingly refreshing. Although I personally liked the Braised Short rib, my partner thought that it was a little bit under seasoned & could use some more sauce. The bread was also really fun to eat. 9/10
Excellent food & service . We had the pastrami & blood pudding starter. & the special fish & the polenta . All were excellent . We will come back ! Make reservations as it is a small place . Well worth the visit for foodies !
We have dined at Le Cloche Penche many times & have never been disappointed. This was our first visit since the COVID-19 pandemic & I am happy to report that the establishment is as good or better than at any time in the past, though I prefer the previous arrangement of more tables & less bar space since I visit for the food! The halibut preparation was essentially perfect - a good-sized piece of high-quality fish well-prepared & accompanied by similarly well prepared vegetables. The vegan main dish had legitimate plant-based protein, chick peas, in a Mediterranean-flavored preparation with many other vegetables, a solid preparation. The apple/ maple dessert was tasty, as was the chocolate option. The wine by the glass was good. Overall, we love Le Cloche Penche & will return as soon as we can.
