Review Summary

Le Clocher Penché is widely regarded as a standout dining destination in Quebec City, known for its creative menu, professional service, and inviting atmosphere. Guests frequently praise the high-quality ingredients, with many highlighting the hanger steak, homemade bread with compound butter, and inventive desserts as memorable favorites. The restaurant is often noted for its warm and welcoming staff who take the time to guide diners through unique culinary offerings, making it a reliable choice for both special occasions and casual visits. While most visitors leave with high praise for the consistently excellent food and wine selections, a few noted that the intimate space can become warm during peak summer weather, and individual tastes regarding the menu's adventurous combinations can vary.

Fantastic & artistic meal. Absinthe cocktail.had a well balanced flavor that didn't taste overly of black licorice. Bread with mushroom compound butter was delicious & I don't regularly enjoy mushrooms. Foie gras was good with gooseberry & mustard. Eggplant was incredible, between applewood smoke & chili oil it tasted like a campfire in autumn. dessert.espresso cocktail tasted like memories of skiing the Rockies. Delicious.

The food was AMAZEBALLS. We enjoyed all the dishes & drinks we ordered, especially the delectable cod & the fowl. The cod was cooked to perfection & the sauce was plenty & so flavorful, complimenting the vegetables well. & the fowl was crispy on the skin but still so juicy inside with a rich sauce. All the food was not only presented beautifully, but also used fresh local ingredients. Their cocktails were also refreshing, with fun creative recipes. Additionally, the server was warm & welcoming, & the interior/ambiance was cute. (Sort of rustic chic?) The selection on the dessert menu was small, however, so we didn't get any there.

A memorable dinner in Quebec. The food was fresh, locally sourced & perfectly executed. The menu is varied & every dish has its own unique combination of flavours. Livia went above & beyond to give us the most impeccable dining experience. Prices are very reasonable given the quality & handwork that goes into every dish. Would recommend this to anyone looking to have a gourmet fine dining experience in Quebec.

Truly excellent. We chanced on this gem while in the neighbourhood. The menu is simple, but diverse & so interesting. The food was excellent. The service even more so. For what we got- the ambience, service, & most of all the quality of the food, the prices were reasonable. Will be back again the next time we're in Quebec.

Wow! Incredible service from start to finish. Best restaurant during my one week in Québec! The name of our server is escaping me but she was amazing, thank you for the fabulous recommendations on the menu & Baie St. Paul & for assisting us in English w the menu! Must try the elder cocktail, the ipa selection, & the market fish & creme brulee! Wish I had another night to come back for the oysters, guinea fowl, & pasta dish! Highly recommend this gem & sad I missed the scallops!

This place was amazing! Our server was so attentive & lovely & they were able to make modifications to dishes I had so that they were gluten free & dairy free for me. It was very nice of her to speak French with us so that we could practice. The cod was fantastic; perfectly cooked & some of the best cod I've ever had. Bar programme is also top notch. Mocktails were perfect, especially enjoyed the Mocky Ruby. Thanks to all the staff for making our dinner here extra special.

The food was original, delicious & well presented. We particularly enjoyed the tomato tart, the guinea fowl & the eggplant. Th restaurant was very busy & service, while friendly, was pretty slow. The room was really hot, on a hot night. Hence 4 rather than 5 stars.
