Review Summary

Le Clocher Penché is widely regarded as a standout dining destination in Quebec City, known for its creative menu, professional service, and inviting atmosphere. Guests frequently praise the high-quality ingredients, with many highlighting the hanger steak, homemade bread with compound butter, and inventive desserts as memorable favorites. The restaurant is often noted for its warm and welcoming staff who take the time to guide diners through unique culinary offerings, making it a reliable choice for both special occasions and casual visits. While most visitors leave with high praise for the consistently excellent food and wine selections, a few noted that the intimate space can become warm during peak summer weather, and individual tastes regarding the menu's adventurous combinations can vary.

Beautiful little gem where locals seem to go to often... the place was full on a Tuesday evening. Excellent & refined menu for all that love fresh fish & delicate sauces. Friendly service, great ambiance.

We had a reservation for the 8:30 PM service. We got there on time. At 9:30PM, we still didn't have a plate in front of us. (Consider that 8:30 is late & you are hungry). We had to remind the waiter of our presence to get the bread that we had ordered. We finally got our first plats at 9:50pm. I had ordered the rack of pork & it was cold. The plate was good, but cold. We left past 11:15pm without any excuse or compensation. Totally innaceptable especially when you are on the 8:30 service & you had a reservation & you are being ask for your credit card in advance to charge you in a case of no show!

Fantastic food at a reasonable price (we are from the US so everything was 30% cheaper) The staff was kind, accommodating, & attentive. Best scallops I have ever had! If I come back I would definitely try & get a table facing the kitchen so I could see the chefs work.

Merci!

Great food & service. Scallops, Lion's Mane (mushroom), & crème brûlée were our favorites. Helpful explanation of all dishes in French or English. Friendly service. Restaurant atmosphere was great with an open kitchen. Was a hot day - restaurant room could have been cooler for comfort but can't complain as we weren't the ones in the kitchen! Recommend!

Choosing between an uncomfortably warm room & a room with no ambiance was not a good start. The appetizers made up for it more than the mains. Scallops with morels, easily top dish. The sauce is the reason to order the terrific bread. Shell pasta with oyster mushrooms was closer to a decent if not typical red sauce with the mushrooms not adding much. Pork Chop was good quality but not particularly thrilling. More on Eatingwithziggy[com]
