We ordered the meat pasta, pork steak with sweet potato, steak sandwich, & pork burger. All of them were great, especially the pork steak, such nice flavour!
The food was quite good overall. We ordered the full-size baby back ribs, which came with two smaller racks. One rack was a bit tough & had less meat, while the other was much more tender & meatier. Despite the inconsistency, the flavor was very good.
We also ordered the pork chop, which I enjoyed more. The service was friendly.
The restaurant itself is pleasant, with plenty of seating available indoors. Overall, it's a solid choice if you're in the area & looking for a good meal.
Representative baby pork ribs will make no mistake. Fresh, tasty, with reasonable price & quality. Coffee refills are available. Very nice lunch. Thanks for the kind service from Sarah.
Nothing special about the food, service was delayed & slow & some of the items like chicken on pasta were not even added. Had the pork chops which were just average. Surprised at the great ratings for the place
We sampled a bunch of different menu items. The classic beef tartare, one of the listed favourites, can be divisive & not for everyone. Personally, it was a treat for me trying out something different, but I do not think everyone would appreciate its almost raw meat & liver-like texture. The Tartare comes with fries, a salad, & crouton to round up the order.
We upgraded the side of fries that came with the Tartare into their Tout Cochon poutine. I was happy with that option that way I was able to sample their house poutine without needing to dedicate a full meal order for it. I can say this was among the best poutines I have had. The gravy was rich & flavourful. The poutine was also loaded with a variety of different proteins like the Gaspor farm ham & the bacon-wrapped sausage. The perron cheese curds also perfectly topped off the whole dish.
Our last order was the Quebec pork chop marinated & grilled with maple & tamari. It was served with apple chutney, sweet potato mash, & seasonal vegetables. It is exactly as you would expect with the ingredient details of the dish's name. You get a lot of different flavour profiles & textures with the meal order. Some saltiness with the pork chop then some sweetness with the apple chutney. Meaty tenderness with the pork chop, mushiness with the potato mash, & then some slightly crunchiness with the seasonal vegetables.
We dined on Sunday lunchtime the day before Family Day. There were people waiting to be seated by the time we arrived, but fortunately our group of only 2 people has a table spot available so did not need to wait. We were led down flights of stairs to the lower floor which was level with the street below. The whole place with its classic walls & decor exudes with classic charm.
We had the 4 pilons canard & the cotes XXL. The duck was the starter & it was delicious with the sauce, the main was the pork ribs which was so tender & the meat was falling of the ribs. Perfectly done . Portion was huge with the salads. Highly recommended 👍
The food a little underwhelming for the price & when compared to other restaurants around Old Montreal. The pork chop was a little dry & the vegetables a little over cooked. The duck confit salad was also quite dry but the fried goat's cheese was pretty delicious.
It's a decent place for locals looking for a filling meal as the portions are huge but if you're a tourist with limited days & meals in Quebec City, I think there are better restaurants to try.
Absolutely excellent place ! Definitely try Onion Soup, Carrot cake & pork chop.
Shout out to our server Zacchary (hope i didn't misspell it)
The staff was very friendly & the food was my favourite within Quebec City. We had the ribs, their signature poutine, Shepards pie, & pork chop. I typically do not like pork chop but it was VERY well done & I thoroughly enjoyed it. Each dish, although different, was delicious. Would highly recommend.
The pork chop was amazing, I'd definitely go back again. The atmosphere was so cozy & cute too.
