I ordered the famous baby pork ribs (regular size), & it was very fulfilling! The surface of the pork was well-marinated with a sweet & sour sauce. The meat was tender. Paired with the salad & fries, the whole dish was very satisfying. I also tried the soup of the day, which was a zucchini cream soup. It was light & comforting. I wanted to try their crème brûlée, but unfortunately it was sold out for the day. Our server David was very nice & attentive! Overall it was a great dining experience.
Plats généreux & goûteux, de poulet . Bien grillés , frites bonnes mais un peu molles & trop fines . Sauces aux goûts innovants. Spaghettis au légumes & viandes hachées excellents. Serveur sympathique.
After a long day of exploration, Cochon Dingue is the perfect place for a delicious dinner & drinks! Upon arrival, my girlfriend & I are greeted by the friendly staff. Although it's a busy, packed Saturday night, we are able to get seats by the bar. After we are seated, we order some mocktails to kick things off. The La Passion is pretty refreshing & just the right amount of sweetness. As for the Spritz Zero, it's what I expect. It's citrus & sweet, yet refreshing to keep me going for more drinks! My girlfriend order a set meal with Seafood Bisque, Grilled Rainbow Trout Filet, & a Vanilla Creme Brulee while I order a Grilled Marinated Milk-Fed Veal Flank Steak. Both of us share the food, & overall it's delicious! The veal flank steak is tender, & the Dingue sauce (never had it before) is the perfect blend. The Seafood Bisque is decent. Personally, I think more seafood can be used! To top off the meal, the Vanilla Creme Brulee is fantastically made. It's smooth, not too sweet, & torched perfectly. Couple that with an order of Espresso Martini, & it's a fine dessert & drink! Overall, it's a comfortable dining experience & I have to give special thanks to David, our server. He's super nice, attentive, & helpful with the menu suggestions! Food is amazing, & it's definitely a place I recommend when visiting Quebec City.
I decided to eat here after reading online reviews from various sites. I tried the iconic pork ribs here. The ribs tasted alright. I personally found the sauce was slightly too sweet & could get heavy after a few bites. The salad was good. However, considering the price & the portion, I would give it 5 stars.
My daughter got the seafood pasta, & says it was filled with so much seafood that she would actually call it too much but only in the best way possible. Every other seafood pasta dish should strive to that level, not even mentioning the amazing flavor! I got the seafood pot- en-pot & it was similarly amazing, crisp puff pastry on top, a delicate cheese sauce that did not overwhelm a massive amount of seafood mixed with just the right amount of potatoes, which is not too many. Highly recommended. I also had the strawberry raspberry rhubarb pie, which was excellent, not too tart, obviously some fresh berries in there. My daughter has the royalty which was a lovely chocolate mousse cake. He only downside is that the fries in the protein were overdone at least by my preference.
Foods was good but the service wasn't good. Stake was so much flavored with mushrooms sauce. But the waiter didn't check what we needed even there was not much customers were there. We needed to find a waiter everytime. They are nice but are not good enough to take tip.
Ribs are edible & fine. Nothing special. Poutine is a disgrace to Quebec. Soggy fries, rubbery curds, tangy house sauce instead of a decent gravy & poor coverage, not hot enough either to soften the hard cold rubbery curds. Pork burger is edible. Nothing special. Caesar salad is... somehow also soggy while simultaneously being underdressed. It is hard to make a bad caesar salad...they did it... Cocktails are fine but naturally very watered down.
We came here for an early dinner, booked as it was a Saturday evening. Our waitress Camille came to greet us warmly & took our order immediately. I ordered a pot en pot after it was given a good recommendation from our waitress. Indeed it did not disappoint! The dish was delicious & the sauce was not too heavy, salmon perfectly cooked & prawns tasty. The puff pastry on top was very light & airy, went very well with the rest of the leftover sauce. Salad on the side was nicely drizzled. My friend had the Caesar salad which came with a generous portion of salad with chunky pieces of bacon topped with a whole piece of chicken breast on top. The service was excellent 5⭐️& we would no doubt be back. Thank you for looking after us so well & with such warmth Camille!
