Only got the soups. A different waitress brought our soups & asked if there was anything else she could get us. We told her we had ordered fries thinking she would have gone to get them. But nope, we never got them or the club soda. Waiter was unattentive. We had to get up & go ask for our bill. We told him we didn't get the drinks or fries. The waiter ended up comping our meal which was nice. But we won't be back.
Just few in that afternoon--got to the bar as they opened. Nice young men working--great conversation. They recommended the French Onion soup. Oh yeah. Best I have EVER had. Great place. A nice change from what we have in the USA. I would travel back just for the soup & salad alone!!!
Enjoyed lunch here after the chills & thrills of the Dufferin Terrace toboggan. It's a mere less than 5 minute walk between the two.
The Chateau is beautifully decorated for Christmas this time of year & is bustling & hustling with people.
I highly recommend the French onion soup which is a hearty serving of delicious soup that stands as a main on its own. The soup to onion & cheese ratio was perfect which is a feat that few restaurants seem to achieve & makes the $25 price a bit more palatable (no pun intended).
We also ordered the club sandwich &, while good, it didn't stand up to the French onion soup & truly wasn't worthy of the $35 price.
Dining at Bistro Le Same comes with a significant price tag because of its location inside the Chateau & the prestige that comes along with it.
Food 8/10
Service 10/10
We started our stay with lunch here, & it was a great first impression. The restaurant is stunning & beautifully designed, with lovely waterfront views. The French onion soup is a must, & be sure to save room for dessert. There's a great variety of options for everyone, & the service was attentive & friendly throughout.
A high end bistro in a world class hotel, but the food is a bit overrated. I had oysters, which were quite ordinary compared with what we ate recently in Montreal (Darlings), onion soup which was very good, a beet tartare, which was just OK & for dessert they brought us a nice cheesecake to celebrate our anniversary. But the place has a great atmosphere - when you eat here you feel like you are somewhere.
Shout out to Luana & Annie F.!! We had a superb time last week!! The food was amazing & Luana & Annie were incredibly helpful in navigating the menu for food & drink that would best suit us. Loved the virgin strawberry daiquiri, ravioli & minestrone soup that I got to enjoy. Got dessert as well: the caramel-chocolate pudding. That one was slightly a miss for me; I'd expected a stronger chocolatey flavor than I got. Still, I can genuinely say I enjoyed this culinary adventure & would 100% return. Thanks for an amazing experience! Next time I hope to return for a seat with a view, plus more culinary delights!
It was good.
It was 11:30 am on a Tuesday & we were looking for lunch near the Fairmont Hotel. We'd eaten at Bistro Le Sam in 2022, so we knew the food would be good, albeit pricey.
We didn't have a reservation, so we could not be seated near the windows overlooking the terrace. We were seated in a comfy half round booth.
I ordered the Caesar Salad with Chicken. My wife ordered the French Onion Soup & the Lobster-Crab Arancini.
My salad was excellent. Her soup was also excellent. Her Lobster-Crab Aranacini was not good. It was mostly devoid of any seafood at all.
The service & the atmosphere were great.
We'd eat here again.
Exceptional prices for a very mediocre food.
French onion soup was great , cocktails were good ($28 for a basic cocktail better be good) ,
Pork ribs on the other hand were dry & old , definitely not cooked on a same day, it would have been okay at a cheap neighborhood pub for like $23 , but it definitely not okay when you charging $45 for them.
Service not the best eithe
