We enjoyed this restaurant on our most recent vacation to Quebec. We arrived just before the restaurant opened & were seated immediately in front of one of the windows, giving us a lovely view. The wait staff was friendly & attentive & the food was delicious! Vegetarian & vegan dishes were clearly marked, creatively designed, & well made.
Nine year olds review: I thought the food was great & since I love chocolate milk of course I had to get it! I ordered mac & cheese & I was in heaven when I tried it. The second time we came I got mac & cheese & a Shirley Temple for the first time & I loved it! This place is amazing & when I heard it had 4 stars I was very outraged & thought it should be 5 stars!!! Definitely come here because it is amazing! :)
Pas une bonne expérience- entre 4 personnes nous avons eu 2 spécialités signatures, « cassolette de fruits de mer » (affreux, trop crémeux & j'ai demandé pourquoi les deux assiettes non pas été pareil une avec salade roquette; vinaigrette oignons & radis, l'autre seulement qqs feuilles de la roquette. Mais en plus, quand j'ai demandé si je pouvais avoir des oignons & des tranches de radis, l'assiette & revenue avec une montagne d'oignons vengeresses!)
Le tartare de boeuf ressemblait à la viande hachée en conserve, mais c'était le meilleur (entre tous nos 4 assiettes)
le'smash burger' n'était que de la viande décongelée, sans saveur, sèche, trop cuite & noyée sous un fromage industriel tout plat... ni cheddar, ni américain, juste quelconque.
Il n'y a aucune excuse pour un tel échec : même si nous étions un samedi, le restaurant n'était pas complet, la pointe du midi était passée. L'endroit ne manquait pas de personnel... nous avons vu de nombreux serveurs, mais cette agressive'bombe d'oignons' jetée sur la spécialité de la maison (58 $) était le signe que les cuisiniers sont surmenés & bout du rouleau... nous nous sommes sentis mal, & c'était une honte pour le Fairmont. Le Fairmont Le Château Frontenac est-il incapable de trouver du personnel qualifié ? Quelle honte, Fairmont ! »
Excellente expérience. Une petite bouchée & un bon verre de vin en vaut le détour. Menu intéressant. Cuisine réputée. & service hors pair par Thomas, accueillant, stylé & très professionnel. Nous recommandons sans hésitation.
The food is always excellent, but what truly stands out is the service. A sincere thank you to Roxanne, the manager, & Laurent, our waiter, for making our last visit - a special occasion - truly memorable. They genuinely go out of their way to accommodate us, & it never goes unnoticed.
While the service by the hostesses was good & my food was good, there were several other issues that make a visit to this restaurant not worth it in my opinion.
The food is very overpriced for what it is, & my husbands steak was over cooked.
We had a reservation & it took 25 minutes to seat us.
The table they sat us at was wobbly & small. When they brought the food, they had trouble to fit it all & blamed the small table. Why, as a restaurant, would you have tables too small for your plates?? When asked to move they told us there was no room, despite seeing several other empty tables. Also, the chairs were huge so that when you lie back, you cant hear the person across from you! So we had to lean forward all night, giving me a back ache.
The server was clumsy, which wasnt a huge deal, but when the server's station is right next to your table & he keeps dropping water & salt, its a little disturbing.
Overall, paid a large amount for mediocre experience.
