Made a 9:00 reservation, I arrived to their bar at 8:15 for a drink. They were calling on my phone by 8:20 telling me I could come early if I wanted. I told them I was already at the bar & would come over at 9. At 8:45 before my drinks even arrived, the hostess found me & told me I needed to leave the bar now because the kitchen was closing at 9. Why do they take reservations for after the kitchen is closing? We were totally rushed. Had to bring our 60.00 drinks over to our table & quickly place an order. I had the fish & chips, the fries were totally cold & soggy, the salad had a tiny squirt of dressing. I have had better fish & chips from a truck on the street. I couldn't eat anything besides the fish. The waiter asked "you didn't like it?" I said no, it was bad. He didn't respond except "do you want dessert " I would not go back here

I can't say enough good things about the service we received from Karen & Marie-Eve. Their professionalism & warmth added a personal touch to our afternoon, & we left feeling thoroughly satisfied. Bistro Le Sam restaurant exceeded all expectations. You do not often find a place where every element comes together so perfectly. I've been to many similar restaurants, but this one truly stands out. The attention to detail & commitment to guest service set it apart from the rest. From the moment we arrived until we left, everything was very well handled. I appreciate the team for putting together such an unforgettable birthday surprise & experience. I want to thank Karen & Marie-Eve for going above & beyond to ensure that our dining experience was perfect. Their genuine hospitality & impeccable service made all the difference. I can't thank both of them enough for their fantastic & outstanding service. They went out of their way to accommodate my requests & made me & my entire family feel very special. Karen showed me that she truly cares about the restaurant guests & she went above & beyond to make sure I left Bistro Le Sam restaurant very happy & she definitely made the difference making sure our time spend there was truly one of a kind & unforgettable. Overall, dining at this restaurant was a delight from start to finish. The delicious food, impeccable service, & charming ambiance made for a memorable experience. I clearly would give more than 5 stars if I could & I highly recommend it!!! If you go to Québec city & you want to experience one if a kind dining Bistro Le Sam restaurant should definitely be one of your top priorities. Thanks to the entire team , I will definitely be back!

Solid experience. The service was great, food was great & we had a table in the alcove so we had a water view. I recommend the alcove seating so make your reservation early. We had the goat cheese & spinach puff pie, the mushroom rigatoni, the five cheese board, the carrot soup, & the Caesar salad. All were excellent.

The food was great! I had a lovely spinach cheese puff pastry! However, service was quite slow. The first night we had Evelyn, who was so lovely. The second night, we had someone else; his service was slower. The angel cake was super small. Some portions were small. The bar doesn't mix cocktails too well, & they put way too much ice in their drinks imo. Beautiful view.

I love this place. It's always nice to sit at the bar & chat with the mixologist. You have to try the truffle popcorn the poutine & the beef tartare.

Best restaurant we ate at in the city. It was more pricey but very lovely. Portions are smaller for the entrees but very well done. They are kid friendly & even have kids menus. The 3 meat, 2 charcuterie board was fantastic! I had the short rib which was as tender as could be! Wife had the cod entree & said it wasn't as good as mine. They are gluten free friendly. Absolutely wonderful experience even if it is on the pricier side.

Disappointing at best. Apparently it's just a joint in the Chateau; I am bewildered by the great reviews. The oysters were ok, but thin & limp (unlike the ones I had the night before at Albacore - highly recommend). The Caesar salad was so overdressed there was a bowl of soup left over. The only thing that was pretty good was the beef tartare, but that only came with 2 thin toasts. I used the croutons from the Caesar to compensate. I did have a beautifully made cocktail but in general the bartender/server was distracted by everyone else. I was seated at the bar, with no view, so I was hoping for more from the food & service. At least I had a fabulous cocktail to drown my sorrows in.
