Review Summary

L'Échaudé is widely regarded as a staple in Old Quebec, celebrated for its authentic French cuisine and charming atmosphere. Many diners praise the exceptional quality of dishes such as the duck confit, scallops, and beef tartare, noting that the food often balances creativity and tradition. While the service is frequently described as professional, attentive, and welcoming, some experiences are occasionally impacted by longer wait times or inconsistent pacing during busy periods. Although individual preferences regarding portion sizes and flavor profiles vary, the overall consensus highlights L'Échaudé as a memorable and high quality culinary destination.

Timing is everything, & they have perfect timing. You don't feel rushed, or stuffed because off eating too fast. The Absolute best Amaretto Sour, wonderful breads, goat cheese appetizer. Duck duck yum. Beautiful atmosphere, creme brulee was tops.

Small portions, large price, flavor just okay. Duck breast was very tough too.. 2 of us ordered cream of cauliflower soup. One was full, the other small. I had to send it back.. it was just ok too. I wouldn't go back!

Wonderful dinner. The restaurant is in a cozy art gallery district near the port area. Lovely interior: upscale but not stuffy. Dinner was delicious. Duck breast seemed to win the prize. Also delicious was the char fish special, duck confit & lobster gnocchi! Wait staff was courteous, friendly & efficient. Tres bien!!

Fantastic classic, well prepared food. Everything was fresh & delicious. The service was impeccable. Loved the tartare trilogy, the veal cheeks, & the confit duck. Great wines by the glass & a really nice, French heavy, wine list. We certainly recommend.

Our meal was a memorable one. The service was superb. We especially enjoyed the appetizers but our meal of roasted duck breast & the scallops were also delicious. Don't change anything in our book!

The food was disappointing to say the least
At almost $100 per person one would expect something better

Uninspired food, over cooked, frozen seafood,
Duck confit the worst
tartare was mushy & no flavor

The host was great
Pear cocktail great

Steak platter should not be served on black plates
Everything looked black

Will not return

Kitchen service very slow

Came for dinner. Very cute patio. Had tartare & deer tounge for apps, both were delicious. Main meal was mignon & duck confit, both were very delicious. Chocolate tarte for dessert - delicious & creme brûlée (a little too sweet). Service was great. Would recommend for a nice dinner.
