Fusion Sushi Traiteur feels like the kind of place that tried to say yes to everyone & decided to build a menu around that idea. Sushi sits next to burgers, poutine shares space with spaghetti, wraps slide in between. It has the soul of a classic cantine, the kind where people come in with different cravings & no one makes a big deal out of it. You walk up to the counter, order a handful of plates, & some of them land on your table almost right away. The slower ones follow later, carried out with a quiet confidence that everything will get where it needs to go.

That is where the best part of the evening happened. One of the plates slipped onto the floor in a blur of small hands & quick movement. It did not matter if it was our table or the staff. Nobody tried to blame anyone. The whole team moved at once into fix mode. They cleaned the mess, checked that no one was hurt, & focused on making the moment feel safe rather than awkward. A fresh plate was prepared without a sigh. On top of that, they brought out a small chocolate lava cake for the child at our table. He took a bite, thought about it, & calmly announced that it was much better than any chocolate cake he had ever had in France. The food itself was solid. Wraps that tasted honest, big portions, spaghetti sauce that felt properly seasoned & cared for. Walking out, I kept thinking that in a place where the menu tries to be everything, the real specialty might be how naturally they choose kindness when things go sideways.
