Maison de thé Camellia Sinensis specializes in an extensive selection of premium loose-leaf teas sourced directly from small-scale producers across Asia. The establishment provides an educational environment where tea masters guide visitors through the nuances of various oxidation levels, terroirs, and traditional brewing methods. Patrons select from rare white, green, oolong, and dark teas, each prepared with precise water temperatures and infusion times to optimize flavor profiles. The minimalist interior focuses entirely on the sensory experience, featuring dedicated areas for tea service and a retail space housing high-quality brewing equipment. This focus on tea culture centers on the inherent quality of the leaves and the authentic techniques used to extract their complex aromatic properties. The curated menu emphasizes single-origin products, ensuring that every preparation highlights the distinct characteristics of the specific harvest region.
Maison de thé Camellia Sinensis is widely praised for its exceptional tea quality, diverse product selection, and inviting atmosphere. Visitors frequently highlight the staff as knowledgeable, passionate, and welcoming, often noting the personalized service and the helpfulness of the team when selecting products or offering samples. While many patrons enjoy the educational tea tasting experiences and consider the shop a must-visit destination, recent changes to the service model have sparked some debate. Some long-time customers feel the new, more structured tasting format reduces the comfort and flexibility of the previous teahouse experience, though the excellence of the tea itself remains undisputed by the vast majority of visitors.
I really enjoy spending time at this place. Everything there is nice - the staff, the products, the vibe. I miss the tea studio we used to have in Montreal, so I make sure I pass by this store everytime I go in Quebec city
It was my first time discovering this amazing tea shop! & also first time being in Quebec. Of course, I passed by since I was staying in the area. Atmosphere & design inside were just so inviting & beautiful. I decided to try their tasting menu, that included varieties of different tea: green, black, white etc. Maude was so passionate & knowledgeable. ❤? It was pleasure to meet her & talk to her about tea. Staff is just truly wonderful & friendly. They take their time with each customer & I was witnessing it all those times I visited the store. There is never feeling of rush. Work ethics says it all.
I came back another day again to taste different tea & also purchased tea for myself & my friend to take to Toronto. I'm so excited to enjoy it at home!
Next time, I visit Quebec, it's gonna be my must stop! Thank you for having me
My husband & I had such a wonderful date here! The staff are incredibly friendly & very knowledgeable about the many different teas they have in store. We did the tea tasting & enjoyed the whole experience - as two people not supr familiar with the intricacies of tea, we learned a lot & appreciated the complexities of tea varieties, roasts, & ages. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in Quebec city!
Best tea store in all of Quebec. They've got everything you could ever want in every format you could ever want. They're also really nice with the samples. If you like tea even a bit, definitely go.
Staff always helpful, kind & able to explain which teas are which. The ambiance, however, used to nice & cozy.
Used to.
The change from a teahouse to their new comparative tasting model, akin to their Montreal house, is a huge letdown for me. I used to come & sit to enjoy a cup of tea that I would choose, but it seems like it is no longer possible. I am deeply disappointed by this decision, & will, from now on, order my tea still from them, but online, as it is more practical than going to the store since I cannot enjoy a cup of my favourite blends after buying my leaves anymore.
I stopped in this tea shop after breakfast while passing by, & I'm so glad I did! They have an amazing selection of loose-leaf teas, along with packaged options, drinkware, & all the tools you'd need to make the perfect cup. It was such a fun place to browse, & I even found a few Christmas gifts while I was there. I grabbed a chai latte to go, & it was absolutely delicious-rich, warm, & perfectly spiced. The shop itself is spotless, & the employees were incredibly friendly & helpful. They made some great recommendations & really knew their stuff. If you're into tea or just looking for unique gifts, this is a must-visit spot. I'll definitely be back!
The service here was exceptionally friendly, with staff making a genuine effort to speak English, which I greatly appreciated. I purchased tea as a Christmas gift for my brother-in-law, who is a tea enthusiast, & the experience was wonderful. Upon entering, I was offered a tea sample, which set the tone for the visit. The shop has an impressive selection of loose teas, as well as teas in satchels, catering to all preferences. I also treated myself to a freshly made tea to go. The store itself is impeccably designed, with well-organized shelves & detailed descriptions of the teas, making it easy to find exactly what I was looking for. The ambiance & setup reminded me of Teavana back in the States. This is a must-visit for tea lovers!
