Parmesan in Old Quebec City is widely celebrated for its warm, festive, and authentic Italian atmosphere, further elevated by lively live accordion music that creates a truly memorable dining experience. Many visitors praise the restaurant for its charming, character-filled decor and exceptional service, with numerous staff members frequently recognized for their friendliness, professionalism, and attentive care. While a significant portion of guests rave about the delicious, generous portions and high-quality meals, others note varied opinions regarding food consistency and pricing. Great fun. The strolling accordion player is a good touch. The veal Milanese was OK, but I've had better.

We were in the area & were looking to grab a bite for dinner. We drove by Parmesan Restaurant & figured we'd book an online reservation (recommended) & check it out. The hostess seated us promptly. Our drink order was filled pretty quickly. The restaurant uses ALL available space for both its patrons & tchotchkes. It's almost overwhelming how much there is to see as you look around. It took some time to place our order & almost 50 minutes before our food arrived. If you're in a hurry, this isn't the place for you. Getting the check took some time as well. The workers are always moving & hustling, especially the bus staff & food runners. It's just a busy place. The accordian player was a nice touch to add to the ambiance. The food was good, so great. I saw a lot of negative reviews on the complimentary bread. There were (2) kinds in the basket we received. One was soft & the other crunchy. The soft although not warm was pretty good (small basic italian) We had (2) entrees & a beer, & the bill was over $100. This is not a fancy restaurant, but rather a staple to the area with a rich history. Worth a one-time visit for us.

This is a great restaurant with amazing food (me & some others took the Alfredo well someone took the code) & we all loved it. The service was amazing & efficient the only thing is that the first time it took them like 10 minutes to refill the water (it was busy). & there was an accordion player that was amazing. All of the workers were nice & the atmosphere was filled with historical artifacts (such as muskets from 1669). All other great experiences & perfect for a small group or family.

Pasta looked & tasted like it literally was store bought spaghetti brand pasta, $29 for boiled noodles, some canned pesto (surely), & almost nothing else than maybe butter (no hint of garlic flavor as it's supposed to have). Wifes dish appeared to be a canned Ragu brand sauce on top of store bought spaghetti noodles too, for $20. It was edible, but I've never seen such little taste or finesse in an Italian restauraunt. I finished my "meal" out of sheer hunger & survival, not pleasure. Some of the bread they served was so stale & burnt that it cracked in half like a rock solid cracker, served with butter alone with no olive oil or anything. The service staff were nice & trying hard, & they had a live accordion player, which was charming, that's why they get 2 stars instead of one.

The most intimate lovely experience with elevated Italian dishes & decadent desserts. The staff made you feel so very special. The decoratives, wood burning fireplace, & your own personal table side accordion player whisk you off your feet. We brought our children here celebrating our anniversary & it was also very family friendly with a dessert bar to observe while you're eating. Parmesan is a must see restaurant arguably the best closest to château Frontenac!
