Fantastic experience at Le Sam, the best of my entire week in Quebec City. Beautify space with enormous windows right by the river. I had the seafood chowder which was so flavorful, I am glad I ordered that dish. One sister had onion soup & a crème brûlée, she said the soup was wonderful. Other sister had fish & chips, she enjoyed it. It was the best meal with the best view we had all week. Thoroughly enjoyed it

We stopped by Le Sam Bistro at the Fairmont Hotel for drinks, & wow, were they amazing!

We weren't exactly sure what we were in the mood for, so we talked with the wonderful bartender, Henry, who was fantastic. He recommended a French Martini, & it was absolutely delicious. It felt like a little taste of magic.

The atmosphere was dark, cozy, & inviting, making it the perfect spot to relax & enjoy a drink. Between the amazing cocktails, the beautiful setting, & Henry's friendly & knowledgeable service, we had such a wonderful experience.

If you're near the Fairmont & looking for a great cocktail in a lovely atmosphere, Le Sam is definitely worth a visit!

Nice view...that's about it. Food was just ok despite the high price. Service was terrible. Waitress completely overwhelmed.

Great view & elegant design with friendly service, the mashed burgers were just fabulous so were the crème brûlée unlike the French ones but with better texture.

Absolutely amazing view from our window table. Onion soup to die for! Crème brûlée was amazing. Our waiter, Laurent, was fantastic! Our first meal on our first visit to Quebec City was lovely!

Cela fait déjà plusieurs années que nous allons souper au Sam. Ils se souviennent même de mes allergies & de mes intolérances.
Le service est agréable. Les gens sont polis & courtois. Bel endroit pour manger lors d'un passage à Québec ou aux environs.

I booked this place specifically to soak up the romantic, historic vibe of Quebec City's most famous landmark. It started raining just as we walked in, but by the time we finished, the sun was out & a rainbow appeared over the St. Lawrence - magical timing! 🌈

The bistro has a relaxed,'evolutive' concept with an open kitchen & a beautiful glass roof overlooking the river. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared:

🧅 French Onion Soup - the best I've had in Quebec. They add red wine to the broth, which gives it a deep, complex richness you don't get from the usual version. Topped with gooey Louis d'Or cheese.

🥗 Caesar Salad - a total twist on the classic, with smoked mackerel in the dressing, fried capers, beef bacon, quail eggs, & crispy fried mackerel on top. So much texture & flavour.

🌽 Corn Risotto - creamy & sweet, with roasted cherry tomatoes, cashew butter, & toasted pumpkin seeds. The lemon gremolata added a bright, fresh note I've never tasted in a risotto before - it cut through the richness perfectly.

🦆 Duck Breast - crispy skin, tender pink meat, with raspberry gastrique & red beet purée. Perfectly balanced.

Service: Our waiter? ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - attentive, warm, & made us feel welcome. The hostess at the front door? ⭐ - cold, unwelcoming, & could use a serious lesson in hospitality. Two completely different experiences under one roof.

J'ai vraiment adoré l'endroit, l'ambiance & mon dîner au Bistro Le Sam étaient excellents. Les plats avaient un goût exceptionnel & étaient très savoureux. Le service était au top. Un grand merci à Evelyne Brochu, la serveuse, qui a été très gentille & professionnelle. Une très belle expérience, je recommande.
