I recently tried the Omori Miso Ramen at Tora-ya Ramen in Quebec, & it was a great experience. The soup was delicious with rich, well-balanced flavors, & the staff was incredibly friendly, adding to the pleasant atmosphere. If you're in Quebec & craving ramen, Tora-ya is definitely worth a visit!
Heard lots of good things about this restaurant. I think our experience is an outlier. They were helpful in offering less flavour in the soup because we have kids. However, if you're used to traditional ramen, then please stick with regular taste. Our shoyu ramen were quite bland, & the meat was a bit dry.
Un coup de coeur pour toute la famille! Une cuisine authentique, savoureuse, sans artifices mais DIVINE! Il faut absolument goûter: les gyoza, le kara age, tous les ramen mais principalement la kimchi (qui est selon moi la meilleure soupe au monde), le yaki soba, les beignets de pieuvre. Il faut faire la file bien souvent car le resto est petit & ne prend pas de réservation, mais ça en vaut la peine. L'accueil, le service, le rapport qualité-prix tout mérite 5 étoiles!
C'était super comme expérience! Nous sommes allés vendredi soir, nous n'avons pas attendu longtemps, car nous étions uniquement 2, nius avons mangé au comptoir mais cetait parfait, nous voyions les cuisiniers faire les repas 🥘 côté nourriture, c'etait excellent! Nous avons pris les dumplings en entrée, une soupe miso avec viande comme repas ainsi que le dessert d'Omochi! Un pure délice 👌 Je recommande cet endroit, mais arrivez tôt, car beaucoup de monde, peu de places assises & aucune possibilité de réserver !
There was a short queue when we went on a Saturday night but it moved really fast. We ordered the shoyu ramen, which was alright - the soup was nice but the chashu was a little hard & the egg was slightly overcooked. The gyoza was quite good. Worth a try.
I read reviews about Tora-Ya Ramen before I went (because I really wanted to go there for lunch). Many of them talking about the good service & food, & a few criticizing the food, the type of noodles they had, among other things. Today I went, & I was able to draw my conclusions:
- The service was amazing: they serve you a glass of water & you can ask for it to be refilled, you can ask for the Wi-Fi password if you want to connect to the internet, the waiter even offered me the chance to stay at the bar a little longer because I was with a very full stomach (2 glasses of water & a drink, plus a soup, are too many liquids in a short time).
- & about the food, zero criticism: I ordered Miso-Kimchi, omochi & a soda. The Miso-Kimchi is worth recommending on any occasion (loaded with flavor, but if you don't like spicy, well...try another dish), & the noodles they had were perfect for the soup (they are thin noodles, & that's fine, plus they combine better with the rest of the ingredients). & the omochi, 4 mochis (& a quarter of a dorayaki) of different flavors (although, my favorite was the triangular cinnamon mochi).
- Any criticism or negative side: ...I don't know, maybe some people might find the prices a little high, but the quality of the food shows that the price is well set.
In short: recommended? Yes of course. Completely.

Un souper improvisé. On a l'impression d'être dans un restaurant japonais en plein New York un mercredi soir! Merci pour la bonne soupe! Le Bouillon est riche & les nouilles sont délicieuses!
Tout y est excellent, des entrées au Saké! Mention spéciale au délicieux poulet Kara Age & au Kimchi Ramen. Resto dirigé par une femme japonaise exquise. Le personnel - féminin - est courtois, chaleureux & visiblement heureux d'y travailler. La déco est authentiquement japonaise & c'est si beau - du bois partout - avec une touche d'humour ici & là. La musique qu'on y fait jouer n'est jamais banale. Bref, gros gros coup de coeur pour ce resto, qui est devenu mon 2e salon! Avis aux personnes intolérantes au gluten: On y sert des soupes Ramen sans gluten :-)
