The food was overpriced for what you got, which was rubbery eggs & one slice of limp toast. Getting a coffee refill was like pulling teeth.

In many ways, the work of the breakfast critic is easy.
We risk very little, yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their eggs, their potatoes, & their toast to our judgment.
We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write & enjoyable to read. But the bitter truth we critics must face is that, in the grand scheme of breakfast, the average plate is probably more meaningful than our criticism designating it so.
There are times, however, when a critic truly risks something. & that is in the discovery & defense of the new.
Last morning, I experienced something new: an unexpectedly satisfying breakfast from Ben & Florentine, listed humbly beneath the cheerful promise of a Quebec brunch menu.
To say that both the meal & the moment challenged my expectations is a gross understatement.
They have rocked me to my core.
In the past, I have made no secret of my disdain for the familiar breakfast chain: the bottomless coffee, the laminated menu, the potatoes that appear beside every plate as if required by provincial law.
But I realize now, only now, that not every breakfast can become great.
But a great breakfast can come from anywhere.
It is difficult to imagine humbler origins for such satisfaction than a chain breakfast plate in Quebec: eggs, toast, potatoes, coffee, & a modest apple compote standing by like witnesses to the miracle.
I hope to return to Ben & Florentine soon.

The food they served me was a 1.5/5 my eggs were old, looked & tasted like plastic, my avocado toast was tasteless, my fruits especially the bananas were uneatable. But the host was very nice & kept a great smile. I just wished she would have changed my food after asking her for it. She said it's normal that it looks & tastes like this… one thing for sure, I am not going back there & I doubt that I'll ever go back to Qc,city.

Plat succulant quand on à pas besoin de retourner les oeufs car pas assez cuit cependant! Le service est normal.. il semble que la serveuse prenne le temps de faire plein d'autre chose comme monter des tables, même si elle sais que l'on attend après elle pour notre facture. Mais un très simple verre de jus d'orange à 5.00$ c'est exagéré! & ne vous trompez pas.. SI VOUS ECHANGEZ VOTRE CAFÉ CONTRE UN JUS ! c'est 5$ +tx + pourboire de plus. J'aurais mis 4 toiles au lieu de 3 pour l'ambiance mais ça sent souvent les toast BRULÉES dans la salle à manger & personne ne semble vouloir y porter attention. Il y a des endroits où ils se forcent pour que tout ces aspects soit au mieux & ils mérite leur 4 ou 5 étoiles. Celui-ci pourrait s'y rendre mais "ils ont encore des croutes à manger".

4em fois à ce retaurant. Nous sommes allés déjeuner la samedi dernier & quelle déception. Nous aimions ce restaurant pour le service rapide & courtois & la chaleur des aliments lors de l arrivé à la table. La semaine dernière, rien de bien compliqué, un oeuf tourné saucisses & pain blanc. Mon oeuf n'était pas chaud du tout & de plus morveux, je ne touche à rien d'autre & j'avise la serveuse qui repart avec mon assiette. Mon assiette revient, je prends une bouchée de saucisses,drôle de texture, j en prends une deuxième pour réaliser qu'elles n'étaient pas cuites à l'intérieur, sans compter les toasts qui étaient froides avec une couche épaisse de margarine non pénétrée. La serveuse a fait son travail, elle m a proposé de refaire mon assiette mais mon appétit était coupé étant donné la situation elle nous a enlevé un gos $4.00 de notre facture. Nous pensions avoir trouvé un bon restaurant déjeuner mais non.... C'est désolant
